X-Wing Draft Help

By sucho23, in X-Wing

We are trying to do a draft in our local group. The plan is to have printed on card stock the pilot cards and upgrades in the same size so that we can mix everything up for the draft and there would not be any tale tale signs.

My question is to ask if anyone knows of an easy way to do this (besides cut and paste from google or x-wing miniatures wiki)? Has anyone else done something like this?

If everyone has the cards that you plan on using, how about just photocopy or scanner? I belive Staples or Kinkos will work for either. Otherwise, look at BGG for Card Makers in the DIY subforum or in the BGG Star Wars- X-Wing forum and make they cards yourself.

Use playing cards, then just print off a list for everyone of what each card corresponds to.

2C - X-wing

3C - Proton Torp

etc

Not the most elegant, but the least amount of work involved.

For more work, but a bit quicker draft, get a pack of cue cards for a couple dollars and then write each ship and upgrade on the cue cards, shuffle and deal out those.

Why not just get hold of some opaque sleeves?

Magic the gathering sleeves should be fine as long as they are of a dark enough colour.

Put one pilot card and one upgrade card into each sleeve (so that each sleeve is the same weight/thickness).

If the sleeve is for a pilot card, then put the upgrade card into the sleeve face down.

If the sleeve is for an upgrade card, then put the pilot card into the sleeve face down.

That way each sleeve is (more or less) identical and contains one face up card for someone to draft.

This does of course rely on there being spare pilot/upgrade cards that you aren't planning on drafting... But I can't imagine that not being the case.
