People who bought raider would rage, but it probably wouldn't be the case with crack/autothrusters.

They did C-3PO for store champs not too long ago
Asmodee is taking too much money out of their FFG piggy bank to pay for their acquisition.
Hence the drop in tournament support. The cost of a few cards and or coins cant be breaking the bank. We all know X wing is making money hand over fist. Not a good sign. Asmodee raised prices to give themselves more money this year, and are now beginning to squeeze the players in other ways.

We're going from 3 kits a year to 4 kits a year. If anything, they're taking the same amount of prize support and dividing them up from the 3 kits into 4 kits.
And the price of the kits has halved.
I don't understand it. Is it instead of the last year store championship kits? Although it does seem less than usual, O think it could help places like where I live - there are like 4 active players and around as much people who own meta-lists but have lost interest in the game. So, an opportunity to host a mini-mini tournament does sound good.
As for the cards - this is not the first time something not of the top popularity is used. I am already used to that:)

Store championships are after worlds in may. Already announced a while ago. Applications closed on the 13th. These are totally separate kits. Same as previous years winter spring and summer kits

But we're not seeing "the same amount of prize support", are we? No medals or challenge coins and half as many tokens in each kit. And it's wrong to suggest that 4 different kits this year rather than 3 equates to an increase in actual number of kits. Say for instance FFG released 60,000 kits last year, 20,000 of each. This year they could still be producing 60,000 kits, 15,000 of each. Unless you have figures you can quote to the contrary, the take home from the article is that prize support PER KIT this year is lower than the prize support last year.
