I love HotAC, but if ONE of your squadron is HUA, everyone could be SOL. Maybe some "accidental" friendly fire........

I hate how much this kind of player can ruin a group's night so easily.

Obviously, I wouldn't want to go overboard but I would want to teach him a lesson so I would ask him to meet me for a coffee and while I'm supposed to meeting him, I would find something he loves and bang it. Is he married? Bang the wife. Got a girlfriend, bang her. No wife and no girlfriend, no problem, he must have a mother or boss or pet or precious stone or something you can bang.

Then the next time you are playing and he's wasting time you can tell everyone the story and all laugh at how you left him waiting at a coffee shop and all mock him and make him feel bad.

I wouldn't ever tell anyone about what happens with his mum or pet, by the way. Keep that to yourself. Forever.

Hook up with his wife. That'll show him to be more attentive.

Ok since you have a small group of friends and don't want to rock the boat, if you really want to give him another try with HotAC you will need to give him more to do.

Get him to help with imperial movements, roll the die, work out vector, move ships.

While he move 1 squad you could move another.

Also get him to roll for ties in combat against other players.

These things might help to keep him focused.

If this fails you could wait a little while then try to do the campaign without him having perhaps just 3-4 of you.

Or you could even go to your local game store and offer to do a HotAC session on a casual x wing evening, they may be happy to have the variety, invite your 2 most interested friends and see who else joins in.
