Passing on this wave

I'm not sure if obvious troll is a troll or not but, hi, and bye all at the same time!

Sorry you feel that way OP. I collect the game for the models and I for one am very happy with the look of the Wave V ships. Like you totally have a right to your opinions dude but the thread's title is only asking for pushback from the forum, that's all i'm saying.

I can't say I disagree with at least two of the OPs ideas: fleet commands being purchaseable on the flagship of any fleet (making Antilles (or Ashoka) and Wulff mandatory upgrades) or any ship being capable of launching fighters. In fact, if the latter point were true in the game I would probably make it so that RLB allowed you to move first before you attacked (or put you out farther when you did set them out.) it would be pretty fun IMO if fighters on carriers was a sort of shell game, where the list builder had to write down where each squad was loaded but their opponent didn't know until they came out. Basically you trade deployment advantage for a small surprise.

I still like this game, but OP has a point:

This wave in particular seems to have begun a larger-than-normal departure from theme.

It's also disappointing to see every single admiral riding around on a flotilla instead of on the largest ship in the fleet. That also violates the thematic feel pretty egregiously, though I understand why everyone (myself included) does it.

Agreed....which is why I started using a Raider to exclusively flotilla hunt.

Would love to have seen a CC rule that the admiral must be in the largest ship in a fleet.

I still put my Admiral on my heaviest/most dangerous ship in the fleet. Keeps it thematic, and if my opponent wants to get rid of my Admiral they have to come right at my most dangerous capital ship.

Though I completely understand why people put their Admirals on flotillas. Gameplay-wise, it's a very smart decision.

I'm thinking of trying out the Decimators as dedicated Flotilla hunters.

Probably not very effective due to lack of accuracies.

A flotilla is also faster than you.

I think all the waves have been a disappointment to somebody now

OK.

This is a perfect response to the post.

Oh God... It's AdmiralNelson...

My only disappointment is finding out that my FLGS sold my entire order to someone else, and now they're out of stock already. Joy.

Wow. That's not how you retain customers unless they're giving you a fantastic discount.

The heck... why would they do that? Had you already paid them?

Personally, I am really looking forward to seeing how the Pelta Assault fits into the spot where my Neb-B usually sits.

As much as I don't like lifeboat admirals, I also don't like the idea of an Admiral in the largest ship of the fleet, though. Sometimes, that big ship is meant to be the hard-to-ignore distraction coming around from one flank, not the command ship.

You must be popular?

I made the mistake of posting on a FLGS Facebook page that I had already picked up my wave 5, I didn't purchase it through them so I'm not popular any more :-(

It was an honest mistake, albeit a massively frustrating one. I had my preorder in since early last month. When the delivery came in, it seems people were waiting/there and simply bought my allocation right out of the delivery box.

I got a notification to say the new stock was in, but apparently not before my ships had been sold.

As I said, it was an honest mistake. There's not that much of a community for Armada here that they'd intentionally sell to someone else to rake in money. They apologised and have placed an order for replacements, but it'll be mid January before I see them.

That said, I'm still very unhappy about it. Honest mistake or not, someone else is now using my order.

Oh God... It's AdmiralNelson...

AdmiralNelson wrote these insanely long diatribes that called specific people out usually. The OP is quite tame and disappointing compared to those epic (if completely insane) screeds.
