I have seen an app that has one for the X-wing and Z-95 I think for use of scenarios. But I was also thinking of changing the algorithm for the other factions to make them behave differently than Imperial. For the Rebels I want them more of an ally so don't need to develop the independent AI that much. Also since nearly all Rebel and Scum ships have the Target Lock icon I'm thinking of using it as sort of an agro mechanic where their movement instead of being based upon the nearest enemy it is based upon the enemy ship that is target locked. But there are ways someone can pull it (such as roiling a crit during an attack).

Storgar has made AI's for Rebel ships for the Defenders of the Empire Campaign. Both his/her AI's and my own attempt at AI's for Scum ships for the same campaign can be found here:

If I remember correctly, there are AI's for about 10 shiptypes for each faction.

Yeah the maneuver templates are all right but they need to change the action priority. As of now they still fly like Imperials.

For scum they need to prioritize on defensive actions, getting out of firing arcs and evade. Also instead of nearest enemy target the Target Lock token should be focus of the target.

I know people want to play as Empire or Scum as they had with the classic TIE-Fighter and X-wing Vs TIE alliance PC games but for this I think it is better to follow the Imperial Assault model. Have the Rebels as Heroes and Scum is just another enemy that isn't exactly Imperial.

If you have suggestions on specific ship AI's you can post them on this thread:

Broad changes on AI behaviour requires alot of playtesting. It is perhaps easier to take one ship at a time, see what can be improved, and playtest it until it works as we want.

Note that I am only talking about the Scum AI's here. The Rebel AI's are Storgars :-)
