Buy a White board from Walmart. Then you can get sheets of magnetic paper.
Magnetize your map to the white board. Then put all your stickers on the magnetic paper and cut them out. Done.

Unless
1) You live in a small house with a wife and 2 kids
2) Can't play in the garage due to climate
3) Spent a metric ton of money for Christmas
4) Would rather roll and store your map with your playmats
But ty for your input.
Frame it, and use grease pencils. Obviously.
Anybody have a good idea on a way to get a high-res scan of the map and stickers? It wouldn't solve most people's dilemma, but a high-quality scan would allow for posting the map and whatnot online. Then you could place the stickers on them in pretty much any photo editor. Might help for groups who can't have everyone always meet at a single place/time, but leave the map accessible to all.
FFG needs to get an app out for the campaign. Could have a map and rosters.
Why?
They sell more $30 boxes this way.
At this point we are going to go to Lowes and get a 24x36 thing of sheet metal for 10 bucks and have them cut it in half to get 2 18x24 sheets, then go to target and get 2 18x24 poster frames for 8 bucks. Now to get staples to print the posters. going to put the stickers on magnets.
Will Staples scan/reprint the campaign map? Am I understanding that correctly?
Technically the answer is no. However... there are some sympathizers out there who may do it for you.
I laminated my map and found some velcro circles that oddly enough are the perfect size (almost literally perfect, theyre a tiiiiny bit bigger) as the stickers.
Slapped the fuzzy side to the laminated map and the grippy side to the stickers. Works wonders. Only downside is now i need to roll the map up so it takes considerably more room lol

If not FFG then SOMEONE.

I'd give it time. I imagine by summer we'll have different sectors available.... maybe even in playmat format.

Just before CC was announced, I was already working on a map around the Sharlissian Corridor.
The announcement of CC took the wind out of my sails at that time, but now with a template for FFG's vision for how campaigns should work, the wind will be blowing harder than ever.
While I do not know how to do apps, I do intend to put the campaign engine online. There's already substantial stuff that I've developed, which I need to tweak and upload.
Vassal has a campaign engine already, so might want to discuss with green knight.

Hmmm, I don't do Vassal. Is it something that could be engaged with without having to enmesh myself with Vassal?
I see ffg seeling more stickers and maps for this.
Would think a magnatic white board and tape the map to it.
It saddens me that we have to even come up withs solutions for replaying the campaign.
Coming up with solutions to scarcity has been a part of gaming since always.
My plans involve probably getting a full color copy made of it and laminated, then using dry erase markers to mark relevant data (probably for free or near free since I know a guy).
Or possibly mounting it in a picture frame with a glass cover, nailing it to my wall, and using dry erase markers on that.
Maybe a combination of the two. Perhaps frame a laminated copy and put that on the wall.
Edited by DeathseedI'd love to do the markers on laminated/crane, but it's a black base map. Well the e colors show?

Yeah, I was pondering that earlier after I took a good look at the map.
If I got really ambitious, I could get it scanned to jpg, Photoshop the black to white, and print that. But that would seem sort of silly.
Then again, there is this sort of stuff:
https://www.amazon.com/Dry-Erase-Calendar-Fluorescent-markers/dp/B00O4LHC4I
So I'm fairly sure that would work with the normal black map.

Yeah, it can be used to track campaigns without having to play the games on vassal.
Presumably the cc map amd rosters will be added soon
Talked it over with the main group.
Basically, we'll all chip in like $7 each time we want to play through the campaign and just buy it from the LGS.
That way we have permanent records of the Maps each time.
Mine is in a cheap poster frame behind thin plexiglass. I'll probably stick the stickers on spare victory/objective tokens. Those can then be stuck in the plexiglass with putty.
Even just sticking the stickers directly on the plexiglass would be a cheaper solution than buying a new box, given that the frame it came with is <$9(USD). (At that Target, which no longer exists north of the border.)
Edited by Mikael HasselsteinCan someone tell me the size of the stickers please?
Do yiou have access to the the Official FFG Command Tokens?
Like, the "Anything but the Engineering we're finally getting now" - the ConFire, the Navigate, the Squadron?
They're almost EXACTLY that size...
So I'd hazard, about 15mm in Diameter or so?
Not the plastic ones, no. 15mm should be fine for what I have planned then to magnetise them. Thanks
Or someone can build an app that takes place of the map, that can be shared by the group
