Rogue One is breaking box office records and surpassing Disney's initial projections, which was quite lukewarm before the movie opened. Bob Iger even went so far as to warn investors that Rogue One is "an experiment of sorts". Gareth Edwards, the director also recently revealed the first script has some of the crew surviving.
Realizing that the majority of fans out there love the darker tone and the poignant, artsy fate of the characters, it seems the Disney execs sold the movie a bit short here. There's still money to be made with this storyline. And hypothetically, the fate of the crew may not be entirely sealed. After all Darth Maul has miraculously come back from the dead. I don't believe any character in the history of film, outside of a magic trick, has survived being cut in half.
[POLL]
Would you go watch Rogue Two, another caper-style, war spy film set after the Battle of Yavin with Jyn and possibly Rogue One crew members overcoming their doomed fate on Scarif? Not a prequel, but a story that is set in the time after the Death Star blows up.
Or would you boycott Rogue Two with full venom and burn all your Star Wars merchandise?
