Wave 5 Fighters look amazing

By Crabbok, in Star Wars: Armada

Comparing the two generics:

Lancer /// Firespray

Spd: 4 / 3

Hull: 4 / 6

AntiSquad: 3 / 3

AntiShip: 1Blk / 2Blue

Perks: Bomber, Grit, Rogue / Bomber, Rogue

Cost: 15 / 18

The 4hull is the main reason im not realy a fan of it. This thing is going to fold quickly.

I could be completely wrong, as ive misjudged squadrons in the past quite horribly at that.

edit: lol defenders too expensive. Ironic huh? Expensive in Xwing at first too.

Sorry, Don't play X-wing so I don't get the reference.

I grew up playing TIE Fighter so I may include them for nostalgia purposes alone ;)

K,

Defenders in Xwing were introduced quite awhile ago in Wave4 (we are waiting on Wave10 to release). They were essentially a TIE fighter with better forward movement than turning, shields which effectively doubled its HP compared to a TIE fighter, and a slightly stronger gun. But they were like dang near 3x the price of a TIE fighter and really didnt do anything worthy of being 1/3 of your list, often closer to 1/2.

Imperial Veterans that released earlier this year gave them a couple of titles that made them completely sweep the meta in popularity. Suddenly theyre EVERYWHERE lol. The main title people use gives them a price cut and a free evade if they were moving fast enough.

Prior to those titles being released, and Countess Ryad pilot being absolutely nuts, Defenders were considered way too expensive and except for Biophysical on the xwing forums nobody ever used them. Complete 180, now theyre the most common Imperial ship.

Rebels don't have Rhymer, which makes the Lancer less attractive.

As someone said earlier, its the hull value thats the big turn off for me.
