Future Card Speculation!

By Crabbok, in Star Wars: Destiny

What future cards would you be really excited about?

- Darth Maul (Or would be just "Maul"?)

My theory with him is that he'd have 4 damage sides, but they'd be relatively weaker. Maybe a 1, two 2's and a 2 that costs a resource. Quick attacks, without being extremely strong, making up for it with consistency.

- Death Trooper

Your first non-unique that is significantly more expensive than regular stormtroopers. Cost them maybe 10? Give them no special ability but make their dice fairly good. Maybe a 1Ranged, +2 Ranged, and a 3Ranged with resource? 10 health or 9? only 1 blank.

And my man...

-Lando Calrissian

Give him two sides that deal 3 damage but they both cost a resource - also give him a 2 resource side. He MIGHT need 2 blanks though, to balance himself out. He should also come out in a set that has some synergy cards, like a Lobot Support that lets you reroll character dice or something.

Also hoping for more vehicles. Huger and hugerer vehicles! And creatures! Wampas, Dianogas!

I'm excited about Thrawn, Yoda, Palpatine, Lando, Wedge, and even Jar-Jar(for trolling purposes)...

the designers seem to have a really good understanding of the star wars universe and the perception of it, so if they DO make a Jar-Jar card...I'm sure its going to be hilarious. would not be upset though if they never make him a character.

Also...a sarlaac pit battlefield would be awesome. Not sure what ability it would have. maybe...Claim: opponent draws one less card at the end of the turn, to a minimum of 3. that claim ability may be suited for another location..*shrugs*

I'm looking forward to locations....

Lothal, Death Star Trench, Endor Forest....Dagobah Swamps

My buddy had a cool idea for Maul. One or two of his damage sides would be stronger, but require resources to resolve. His ability would allow him to deal a damage to himself rather than pay the resource cost on a die. Sith rage!

Jawa's and Ewoks. Two low cost super swarm characters that only cost 5 or 6 to field. They would be low health and damage but would also have some more swarm support and event cards.

As for uniques...

Obi-Wan (Padawan, Jedi, Jedi Master versions)

Yoda

Darth Maul

Cassian Andor

K-2SO

Tarkin

Porkins (ok maybe not)

Dr. Cornelius Evazan

Any and all Bounty Hunters

Dash Rendar

And so many others...

I expect to see an Obi-Wan Kenobi character.. Be it Young Kenobi or (Old Ben)

It would be cool to see characters at different points in their lives.

The Episodic Star Wars movies are tied to the concept tightly, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to see "early career" Kenobi and an aged self-sacrificial Kenobi. You could build a "generations" deck around it perhaps...or it could allow them to spread out the characters across the colors. Maybe Clone Wars Kenobi is a Red instead of a Blue?

I'd like to see Chewbacca, he'd have to have a couple strong melee attacks on his die.

I'd like to see Chewbacca, he'd have to have a couple strong melee attacks on his die.

If I had to design Chewie,

I would make his die 2 Melee, 2 x 1 Ranged, 1 Shield and 1 Resource and a Dash.

13 Health

Yellow Character

Ability: Wookie Rage, if Chewie has 5 or more damage tokens his character and upgrade melee damage sides increase by 1

Jawas would have to have some kind of scavenging mechanic for a special. I'd see them more as resource and focus generators than combat characters.

And Ewoks could be cheaply costed and have X values on their dice where X is the number of Ewoks you have in play. Then you could have support cards that count as Ewoks in play and event cards that temporarily boost that number.

Oh my lord they have characters for days, no Star Wars could ever be made again and they'd have materials for years of releases. That being said ^5 for the maul and lando dice, just please the real maul not spider maul. Yoda must be made, Boba Fett, Palpatine, Chewie, I even want a 3po support.

I think the same character with different time lines is an interesting idea. Be cool to see anakin take on vader or young obiwan duke it out with old obiwan, luke will be in this group too.

I don't want Ewoks/Plague rats to work like that! It'd be insanity!

Granted that mechanic is totally valid - and may actually happen.... I'm just terrified of it!

I fully expect the following cards:

I don't like you either

Wanted in 12 systems

I'll be careful

You'll be dead

This little one isn't worth the trouble

I'd expect to see both. In fact I think the poster who said padawan obi wan, Jedi obi wan and Jedi master obi wan is probably accurate...just spread out over multiple sets. Same with Vader. There will be a padawan anakin, a Jedi anakin, a non-suit Vader, etc.

Going back to the old CCG, there will be a It could be worse and a It's worse

I would love to see some sort of card that helps mitigate some of the devistation that is jango/ambush. Not something that stops it completely, but maybe a support that you could exhaust and spend resources to gain two shield before you take damage. Like a support that triggers when an enemy character activates. Like a jango, only a support.

PT: Yoda, Maul, Sidious, Mace Windu, every other Jedi, Battle Droid, OOM-9, TPM Kenobi, AOTC Kenobi, AOTC Padme, Zam Wessell, character specific lightsabers that have bonuses when used with their respective characters, Master/Padawan characters (or an ability card) that grants bonuses when the Master/Padawan are the selected characters.

OT: Chewie, Scout Trooper, Snowtrooper, Lando, Lobot, Probe Droid, Wicket, Ewoks, Jawas, generic Rebels, Mon Mothma

And now we have a lot of these

Ahsoka

jar jar (not for trolling purposes)

snoke

dr. Aphra

more prequel content

more extend Canon stuff (Canon books and comics)

Darth Bane

Darth Pleguis

and many more Canon characters.

That is a good ability. Maul is most likely in the next set though, but we will see.

I want to see Mynocks as a support that randomly does damage to either players' vehicles, and also some generic Wookiees!

I want a reprint of Finn, but cheaper. I'd also be ok if they reprint Finn and Rey, both costing 11/14 (even though I'd have to find a new deck to play). This game, being mostly card-based, is perfectly capable of doing errata as long as they have a system where they give you the new versions of cards for free if you have the old one. I just don't want them to errata anything if I still only have the original version and it makes the card worthless (like, I really don't want them to just nuke Force Speed.)

Also:

I don't have the money now

I bet you have

Sorry about the mess

I think rare versions of Han, Luke, Chewie, and Leia, cheap enough to field all four if you want.

Maybe have force ghosts as supports.

A Yoda.

Supports of snow speeders and other ships

k2-so

Maybe support versions of various characters.

A 1 cost support:

"Slow Death"

After your opponent take four or more consecutive actions, if you did not claim the battlefield this round, choose on of their characters. That character takes two damage and their character dice are removed from the pool.

Force the Interplay!

I like the Sarlaac Pit location battlefield. Claim ability: Force your opponent to choose one of their remaining characters and roll its dice. On a blank result they fall into the pit and are defeated.
