consular is probably your best bet, but you might also try Sentinel:Sentry (the sentry spec is in the "Endless Vigil" sentinel book), I think you'll prefer that selection of skills.

sentry and niman disciple pair well (in either order), here's an example build at 915 earned xp including force powers, and I would suggest that you avoid the "foresee" force power.

I don't have access to Endless Vigil. But would you mind telling me why you advise against Foresee?

IMO the 4 most important powers for a jedi are sense, move, enhance, and influence. I'm not saying NEVER get foresee but it should IMO be way down on the list of priorities.

Though to add onto this it really depends on the flavour of Jedi/Force Senstive your going for, like certain force users might pick up farsee instead of something else. Personally I think Farseek is one of the decent middle ground force powers, your character is almsot never flat footed and 2 extra defence dice in combat to a select number of members is good. It's primary function requires a creative DM to make work though.

Basically, the pro is that you can get small hints on plot hooks and go first more often, the con is that it does fairly little by itself and has no visible application. I find it very cool on a "will of the force" kind of character.

It'll depend on the fine details of the campaign you're in, but it can be easy to blow XP on. As I said in my first reply, careful spending of XP is very important for a "Jedi."

The initiative boosting parts of the powers are fine and can be kinda nice if you, or a member of your party, has a good alpha strike build. So that's no biggy, it's just not as amazballs as the other powers.

It's the actual Foreseeing part that's a tricky wicket. If the GM is running a tightly written campaign, and has glimpses of the future to give you, it's viable and MIGHT help from time to time. If you're playing more of a sandbox make it up as you go type game.... the GM won't have much of a future to give you, so your visions will be perpetually "cloudy."

And that's why Foresee isn't that good of a power. The initiative boost isn't bad, but it may not be worth the XP compared to just buying another rank in Cool or Vigilance. The actual forseeing part is just super situational and may or may not even work at all simply because the GM doesn't know.

But that does fit the mold. I mean, has anyone in a Star Wars ever forseen anything effectively?
