The comparison that springs to mind is Nien Nunb (pilot) and Rage. There is little to no doubt that Nien can discard both stress from rage despite very similar trigger wording: "When you receive a stress token [...]"

Granted we could all be wrong about Nien, but I imagine someone official would have corrected it by now if that was the case.
