Rey luvs Cass...?
I don't think an occasional crit is worth two points when you could use that crew slot for Kanan. Clearing stress when you sloop is way more valuable than changing a hit to a crit, especially if you need to boost to line up Rey's arc again. It also makes her less dependent on Cassian.
I would be tempted to replace Bistan with C-3PO for a little extra durability on Rey, especially as she will only be arc-dodging at PS8.

I don't disagree with either of these. The problem is, I don't own either of those (yet!) and my group doesn't want to proxy (that's not negotiable). I'd definitely take Kanan over Bistan if I could.
Ooh,don't tell Jyn, she might get jealous.
Oh, wait, she's already here...awks.
If you don't own either, the Bistan is probably fine. You don't really need the action as much, since you have both rerolls and a quasi focus. While it would be nice to be able to boost or focus for defense, it really isn't necessary.
Looks like a good list! Cassian should hit hard, though I worry that he might be the weak link here...
If she sloops/kturns she will get stressed and wont be able to use Expertise. So if you dont have Kanan, then I wouldnt use Expertise on her. Try Expert Handling instead, she can then barrel roll, plus lose a TL, and Cassian removes stress for her. That frees up 2pt. Having Cassian attack first, giving him HSCP can make Rey hit harder when her enemy has no focus. Or give him Op Spec, and toss Rey a focus when he doesnt hit. A good 2pt crew for Rey is tactician, since you are always wanting arc, and vs mirror matches, you can stress the other Rey. Or can go with Dash crew, so you are able to sloop onto rocks and still attack, keeping your opponent guessing where you may move.
I ran this build a few times against my buddy today and Rey was an absolute buzzsaw. Now, granted, we're not the greatest players by any means, and really our meta is what we play against each other. I was able to regularly boost in close while usually keeping someone in arc. That'd be 3 dice, plus Finn's blank, followed by rerolling Finns blank plus one other, following by focuses to hits, one hit to a crit. Maybe I was just rolling really well, but I probably averaged 4+ hit/crit results per attack. Even if they weren't in arc, they were often in range 1, so I still got 4 dice. This doesn't include any target lock I might have had.
I definitely see the weaknesses (stress/blocking), but don't agree with ignoring Expertise just because one doesn't include Kanan. So what if you don't get to use it a couple times in a match? I'd guess if you're slooping that much to make a significant inpact, you're either doing something wrong or you're already rolling over your poorly flying opponent. I'm not saying I wouldn't include Kanan, because I will when I get him, but they're not mutually inclusive. I would say Expertise and EU are, though.
I've debated putting Jan on her instead of Bistan. While Bistan does prove useful pushing through crits (I activated him every single 1-2 range attack), the defense might be more useful than piling on what is already a ton of offense.
Another note, I felt like Cassian was pretty tame. Maybe the U-wing just isn't a great wingman for Rey.
Edited by gennataosI think the issue with your Uwing is that it's kitted out to be a support ship. Which is good and all, but if it needs to pack a lunch, there are a bunch of threads out there planning how to do just that with a ~42 point Uwing.
What about something like this? He is still a support ship, but if a very different flavour, and one that should be able to force damage through eventually.
U-Wing: · Cassian Andor (27)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Fire Control System (2)
Tactical Jammer (1)
· Baze Malbus (3)
Hotshot Co-pilot (4)
Pivot wing (0)
This works especially well if you FCS the one ship, and then the next turn, attack another ship first. So the first hit you miss (and strip a token), and the second shot you put into a ship that you have a TL on. Maybe not the best, but still effective, good fun, and able to help Rey Force (haha) that damage through.
