New cards spoiled in latest issue of GTM

By mylastnerv, in Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game

If you guys look at one of the Invasion ads in the new GTM magazine they show four new cards in the picture.

One is a Dark Elf Hydra that is a pretty cool resource engine.

Another is an AMAZING Empire card for defense.

The other is a High Elf unit returning action.

I can't see the fourth as it's mostly covered up by the other cards.

Pretty cool though.

Couldn't copy-paste the text, cost, etc. for those of us who don't even know what GTM magazine is gui%C3%B1o.gif ?

I havent seen the cards from GTM, but there is a mention about one unknown Orc card from Tooth and Claw BP on their website.

"Mob Up is a zero cost tactic that simply prevents the cancellation of damage until the end of a turn. How many Orc players have suffered the frustration of lining up a devastating attack, boosting it with the tactic Waaagh!, and unleashing it only to have it cancelled by a card like the Dwarf's Master Rune of Valaya? no more!"

sounds interesting,. any chance of getting more info ? The Dark Elf Hydra sounds cool

Yeah, sorry.

When I originally put up the post I was exhausted. Let me try to put up what I remember the cards doing:

Hydra

Cost was something in the rand of 4-5 resources plus 2 symbols

2 Hammers/1 Health

Ability: put 5 resoure markers on the Hydra, remove 1 to cancel a damage dealt to the Hydra and then put the resource in your pool.

High Elf Tactic:

cost 3 Resources/2 High Elf Symbols I believe

Action: Return target unit to owners hand without attachments.

Empire Tactic: Ulric's Fury (remember this name, cause this card rules)

Cost is 2 Resources and I believe either 2 or 3 Empire symbols

Action: Give all of your defending units Counterstrike 1 til end of turn.

Hope that helps out a bit more.

I still want my MTV, no, wait, Knights of the White Wolf that is cool.gif .

That Hydra is awesome, I can't wait for the companion set so I can get my DE deck on the go.

Ulric's Fury is good card too and Middenheim and Ulric and the Knights of the White Wolf are my favorite of the Empire(I played Middenheimers in Mordheim mini game) so looking forward to more wolf god stuff.

OT: Have read the novel "Hammers of Ulric"?

Ulric's Fury looks great! I can't wait to get x3 of it in my Empire/Dwarf deck. What the heck am I going to take out though??

Nope I have not.

I'm glad those are the problems Empire/Dwarf players are having . . . .

at least with this card now the "overpowered-ness" of Orcs is definately in check.

I am pretty excited by what has been spoiled already. Ulric's Fury sounds amazing. I can't wait for this battlepack to come out to see the rest of the cards!

Thanks Efidm.

Those card effects look great !

However, how does one read this one : "Action: Return target unit to owners hand without attachments." ? Does the target unit has to have no attachment ? Or are the attachments not returned to their owners hand (but that's the rule default when a unit leaves play) ?

You return only the unit card to its owner hand, attached cards leave play.

But that was Martin's point, that's the basic rule. Unit leaves, its attachments go away, so why have the "without attachments" bit in the text since attachments don't return to hand in any case? Was the wording meant to be "target unit with no attachments"?

That is how I interpret this card. Yes I think it could have been written better.

I think they worded it that way to prevent that someone thinks that the attachement belongs to the creature and is also returned to your hand.

But I agree the wording confuses more than it helps.

Well the wording actually could be better, I just pulled the basic idea of the wording of the from memory since I didn't have the magazine in front of me when I posted what the cards do. I double checked them yesterday and I'm still right, so no mistakes on my end.

yeap even more confusing wording... :(
why oh why
