Max point SQN lists

By Teloch, in Star Wars: Armada

Since Warlords has now updated with CC and Wave 5 sqn's, I couldnt help but make up a few different lists of SQN's

x6 VT49 Decimator

x3 VT49 Decimator + x4 TIE Defender

x3 VT49 Decimator + x3 TIE Defender + Major Rhymer

x3 TIE Defender + Major Rhymer + Maarek Stele + Howlrunner + x3 TIE Interceptors

Howlrunner + Saber Squadron (5 blue anti squad at range 2! 6 if you use FC's) + Valen Rudor + x2 TIE Interceptors + x4 TIE Defenders

I want to play with them all

x3 VT48 Decimator

None of them include Intel.

Isn't it strange how a wave release suddenly makes an auto include (Dengar in a decent squadron heavy list) seem no longer required. I assume you are just intending to muscle through the enemy squadrons in a turn or two with your shiny new Tie-Ds and then look to the ships.

I used to play squadron heavy Rieekan lists but without Jan. It was ok against token forces and those were more common at the time (before BCCs) but I did suffer on crucial turns unable to break through the screen and hit faster targets like MC30s. By the time I killed his squadrons those juicy 90 point 4 hull targets were far away.....

On the bright side you are using speedy Tie-Ds and I was using plodding B-Wings

A list type I made up was:

3x TIE/D

Stele

2x TIE Advanced

Lambda

Colonel Jendon

Two TIE Advanced to draw fire from the Defenders and Lambdas while the Defenders lay into the attack. Both Lambdas allow any fighter-4 command ship to direct them, which will likely be an Expanded Hangar VSD with Flight Controllers to clear as many fighters out as possible before they can attack the shuttles.

I might flip between the aces for more fighters... or more escorts now that I think of how endangered the shuttles are. There's also the option of flipping some ships to Phantoms to try taking advantage of their unusual abilities. But at least at start of trying to start taking fighters, this is where I'll begin.

That, or the dead simple 6x VTs.

I like x3 VT49 Decimator + x4 TIE Defender.

Lot of hull to chew threw, and lots of black anti-squad dice.

Don't need Intel since this is an anti-squadron screen. Decimators can give chase while Defenders can hit high priority targets with their expanded range.
