Mispacks in a booster box

By MiniJunkie, in Star Wars: Destiny

A business absolutely does not need to put systems in place that require them to trust their customer base.

You naively believe people wouldn't take advantage of the ability to get free elite dice from FFG for invented mispacks. The reality is you'll find people that won't have your moral qualms over the situation. If you don't believe that such people exist and are involved with this game then I'd suggest you go buy loose booster pack lots of Ebay, I'm sure they won't be completely devoid of Legendaries. Or go look at the rush from some people to buy packs from Amazon as soon as it was reported that some orders of packs were being shipped as boxes instead. Scamming FFG out of a die in order to save themselves from having to splurge on a second $40 Vader wouldn't even cause some people to blink.

what are you talking about? i have faith that FFG product will 99.9999% of the time be accurate but for those very rare instances, as a customer i'd expect a little compensation for my troubles due to faulty product

you have a very authoritarian mentality. This kind of mentality is what gives corporations more power and less power to the people.. which is scary enough in this world already

That is because in this case people cant be trusted....

If they would replace dice for mismatch then there would be tons of people claiming that they are missing a Vader dice.... The abuse would be absurd.

People are ***** when the anonymity of the internet is involved. Sure you have to give your name, but you do not look someone int he eye and you never have to see them its just a faceless corporation you are ripping off so who cares!

they've always honored their product in every other game, i fail to see how this game is any different

if FFG ran their business model to reflect like all of you paranoid "the world is full of sh*tty people" mentalities then they would never honor faults in their product

i'll use X-wing as a perfect example as it's one of their largest cash cows. All of the upgrade cards that come in the boosters are hidden in the packaging. Everyone could cry that they never got their cards just so they could get numerous copies of a particular upgrade that only comes in one expansion with only 1 copy of card (which essentially forces you to buy multiples of the ships if you want more than one copy)

but people don't do that. I'd be lying if i said nobody does that, because i'm sure there are a few that do. But don't fault everyone else because of something a few others might do to gain the upper ground on their apparently sh*tty lives to begin with.

stop pretending that people are sh*tty for the most part. because they aren't. MOST people are honest, hard working individuals with good morals and don't go out of their way to screw other people for their own benefit.

if you want to get into that kind of debate then i'd be going off topic but i'd raise you that there are lots extremely rich people got to where they are in life because they screwed everyone in their path to get there. Should we blame all rich people for the few that give that kind of a stigma? no because there are still plenty out there that got rich because of a good idea, something that changed the world for the better or simply got lucky.

the difference is they can only use those x-wing cards to play the game. with destiny they can scam the sell on the secondary market and make money. money tends to bring out the worst in people

and you use the dice for what else other than this game?

people can sell those cards from X wing on the secondary market as well

Xwing isn't collectible though.

If someone bought a ship for $13, they're not turning around and selling it for $20, because the market is stable.

In Destiny, a $4 pack might have a value closer to $15 - $18 depending on what's inside. So the secondary market sets the value of even replacement components.

FFG has to be skeptical because getting scammed hurts the credibility of the collectible nature of the game.

I've seen Vader going for £40-45 in this game.(and one lunatic on facebook tried to sell his evader for £80, i don't think he got any offers)

Palpatine I never saw at more than £20 in xwing - and I could always just spend £40 on a raider to get him.

I could spend hundreds on boosters and never see a vader.

I understand why FFG are doing it this way for destiny. I wish they didnt have to do it this way, and feel they should be more on top of their QC if they're going to do it this way, but it is what it is.

I opened a sealed box tonight. 1 misplace: Leia die with Ackbar card.

I'm wondering if mispacks are only causing rare cards to be paired with incorrect rare dice. Or maybe only mismatching dice and cards of the same rarity (so rare card and die mismatches as well as legendary die and card mismatches, but no rare card with legendary die or legendary card with rare die mismatches).

Wow, just got 7 mispacks in a single booster box of Awakenings. All rares (not legendaries). 7 dice without matching cards and 7 cards without matching dice. This seems like quite a high error rate for a box of 36 booster packs. Just submitted a customer service request...

i've yet to see a single mispacked die.

Nor have any of my friends had it (to my knowledge anyway)
