Imperial Assualt Tabletop Game

By heroicnerd, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Has anyone here converted Imperial Assualt over to an actual tabletop game?

IA is a tabletop game, FFG tabletop games are different from the likes of GW tabletop games

Check out rebel-assault.com. They are working on modifying the rule set the use the IA rules for a table top game.

Nope, as per rules, Imperial Assault must be played on the floor and not on a table.

You have no idea how much time I've wasted setting up and playing IA on my ceiling. :|

Imperial Assault isn't played on a tabletop? Maybe this is a British thing, like how they call flashlights torches.

Imperial Assault is more accurately a board game. You play on a board, not a gaming table with terrain on it.

There has been some work done to make Imperial Assault into a proper tabletop wargame, however IMO the rules are far too clunky and top-heavy and really don'tr translate well at all. It's great as a small scale skirmish game, though.

But for making it into a larger scale game, I think you'd be better served either adapting an exsting rule set or coming up with something new. I think the Lord of the Rings would make a good start.

Hasbro begs to differ - and they will steal your toys if you say differently. :D

How 'bout Heroclix maps using FUBAR rules?

movement x 1.5 in inches

accuracy x2 in inches

I think you're set if you talk about terrain/LOS before hand. You can even run similar missions if you set up the terrain similarly.
