Hi folks - just reading the rules now and organising the cards and stuff - with a smile on my face as I am an Arkham Horror 'bits' freak.

Anyhow, I have split out the basic action cards but was wondering what was a good way to sort the rest (talking about ways to arrange them to facilitate play rather than physical storage).

Should I arrange them alphabetically, or try and group spells etc together, or arrange them by keywords or careers or ?

Any advice from those who have done this would be appreciated. It may be that something leaps out at me as I read further in the rules but nothing along those lines so far. Haven't quite got my brain around what is in there just yet.

Depending on your level of CDO (that's ocd in its proper order)

Arranged by spells, favors, combat, social, and special (like ritual dances, ancestor)

then arrange alphabetically.

I arranged by types

Magic Spells, Divine Spells, Ranged Attacks, Melee Attakcs, Career Specific. Then I applied...Rubber Bands!

Really, now that the group is going, the cards not selected are not as busy. Unless I read them for the purpose of just reading/learning, getting idea etc.

I arranged them by type an alphabetically in the photo album sheets (forget card protectors).

The types aren't too deep, so I leave them by type and don't worry about alphabetization.

Basic Actions, social, spell (college), melee, range, support, etc.

Thanks folks - did the arrange by type then alpha thing - though that left some career skills across 2 or 3 categories - but have a better feel for what is in there now so will be able to guide my play group when they come to choosing skills.

I took a slightly different route but I'm happy with it. After setting aside the basic, magic, and career-specific cards in their own sets, I sorted the remaining cards by the skill they're associated with. Reason being I figure at character creation, my players will mainly be interested in looking at cards associated with skills they've trained in.
