U Wing - Turn 180

By Schu81, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hello XWing Community!

I have got a question about the Pivot Wing title for the new U Wing.

If I want to turn the ship 180 degrees, does it have to be in "landing position" already, before I reveal the red maneuver... which means, I have to flip the card from "fighting" to "landing" one round before the actual 180 degree turn?

Or is it possible to do the red maneuver, flip the card to "landing" and turn around?

You would have to have it flipped to the landing side prior to revealing your maneuver otherwise the dial reveal timing window has already passed when the card face showing the turnaround is face up.

It triggers on reveal, which is before you "move" even though you arent moving.

The card flips after you do a maneuver.

Opposite ends of the maneuver timing windows. You have to telegraph you can do it ahead of time before you can do it.

Alright! Thanks!

I've got another question about this. Do you have to turn exactly 180 degrees, or up to? Given how tightly restricted we are with using the movement dials, I would think it's only exactly 180, but wanted to be sure. And what do you think is the best way to be precise? Put a speed 2 template next to the base and align it back once rotated?

Exactly 180 degrees. The easiest way is to just put a template in the slots where you normally would, and just turn the ship around
