Wave 6 Rogue One predictions (spoilers likely)

By Funk Fu master, in Star Wars: Armada

But am I the only one who noticed the Bra'Tohk Corvettes and Tie Boarding Craft in Rogue One?

The Braha'tok gunships had already been identified in the trailers. As for the twin-pod TIEs, indeed somebody indicated they could be TIE/br instead of TIE/sa - which hadn't crossed my mind but would make perfect sense in that scene...

I'll try again now that someone's talk about TIEs. During the battle of Scarif, the Death Troopers take land from some kind of TIE transport. We can see this ships escorted by two TIE striker. The ships is like a striker but bigger and have some other differences. What ship is it? (It already exist or they created it for this film? Anyone knows?)

We don't know what it is, since the Visual Guide did not have an entry for it - and there is nothing exactly like it in the EU as far as I know. Like the TIE Striker it was almost certainly created for the movie.

Between Rogue One, Star Wars Rebels, and a New Hope the ISD-I WILL have the most screen time of the two models. Given that the next two spinoff films are most likely set before A New Hope we'll see ISD-I's there as well.

The ISD-I is poised to be the most iconic variant of the Star Destroyer on the big and small screen. It would be a crime to not get a model of one with a repaint.

Interestingly, the Rebels ones (aside from the targeting array) look more like ISD-IIs despite canonically being ISD-Is. Specifically, the bridge domes have the same triangular panels (and long thin vanes on the tops) and the turrets are recessed in the same way. The engines also lack the triple vanes that the ISD-I has.

Those are Imperial Giraffe Class Star Destroyers.

Whoever in the Rebels art department came up with the idea to increase the ISD's Neck to the bridge tower should be fired and shunned from Star Wars....serisouly just why? The ugliest design decision in the history of Star Wars. The Rebels ISD's are disasters as pointed out above they mix ISD 1 and ISD 2 features. No axial turbos or trench heavy turbos as well as the differences listed above. An ISD1 remodel would be awesome but I serisouly doubt we will ever see it.

Presumably it was yet another McQuarrie homage. I've seen McQuarrie Star Destroyer art with the same engine nozzle shape (red glows rather than blue) same trench structure - and tall bridge towers (though the one with bridge tower visible is in the distance so it's hard to tell exactly how tall)

I can't see us getting another ISD with minor visual changes from a business perspective, unless they're loaded with upgrade cards and what not like Stalker, Thunderflare, Chimaera, Thrawn, Piett..etc.

I also don't think we'll see the FO ISD until we have a Rebel equivalent, like the MC90 or something like that. FFG does not have a habit of releasing things at the same time that are part of different timelines.

Therefore, I think next wave we'll see Rogue One stuff like the MC75 and Hammerhead for Rebels, and most likely the Quasar Fleet Carrier and something else for Imperials.

for Wave 6 I just want 6 Y wings to be able to drop Ion Torps onto a ISD Disable it for the rest of the game then use a Hammer Head corvette to ram it into another ISD Destroying them both

FFG make it happen

Silly enough that the movie made it happen. I hope to forget this silly, silly scene as soon as possible.

Also those ISD's were not at full power, their shields had been hit (Only saw the movie once but I did see a shield generator blow up and I believe it was the one on the ship that was bombed.) so it was vulnerable to a Y-Wing attack.

Also you're in the minority, most fans Loved that scene and it showed the brilliance of the Rebel Admiral Raddus. Beautiful film moment that will be remembered for generations.

Edit: Yes the ISD's shield generator was destroyed before the Y-Wings made their bomb run making it Wide open to attack. So the scene was very accurate to canon.

Ok.my take

Rebels

MC75 star Cruiser - Medium Base, Admiral Raddus included as Commander

Hammerhead corvette - Small base, some sort of ramming buff

U-Wing Fighter - grit, heavy, strategic

Gold Squadron - Elite Y-Wings with bomber, Rogue, heavy, and 2 Blue anti ship dice. Crits may discard a defence token

Imperials

ISD-1 remodel/repaint- Krennic as commander, tyrant title. Maybe new variant (Flagship retrofit)

Cargo shuttle - heavy, slow, strategic, relay

TIE striker - swarm, counter 1. Cheap

Stealth Shuttle - relay, strategic, intel

I think we will get the hammerhead and it will change the first click of the ship that it hit by one in the direction that the ship is heading so if you hit the right side the ship forced to have first click 1 to the right no matter the ship
