So do guys think he will appear in Armada? If so as what?
Try to keep this thread spoiler free (if you haven't seen Rogue One yet stop reading this and GO SEE IT!!).

His badge gives him rank equivalent to Admiral - but I think that he's closer to ISB than Imperial Navy, hence his uniform. I feel he'd make a better Officer than he would an Admiral.
Ya that was kind of what I was thinking as well.
I'd bet we see him as an officer. He's a director, not a general or admiral or moff. We don't really see him commanding any troops other than his personal guard. In fact, he gets bossed around by the real big bads (Tarkin and Vader). So yeah, definitely officer level imo.
Nah we definitely do seem him commanding people especially in the third act. The way the other officers at that place act around Krennic he's clearly in charge.
No Krennic will most certainly be a commander card.
Who knows we already have many admirals as just officers
And conversely, we have many generals (and ex-generals like Vader) as fleet commanders. And the occasional political (Mon Mothma, Bel Iblis).
Krennic, I can't see as commanding lots of warships though. Seems like the kind of guy who boosts one warship's weapons massively - as a Weapons Research thing.

"Director Krennic: Ship he is equipped to gains an extra turbolaser slot"
I could used Spinals and XI7'S on my ISD lol
He wouldn't be the first Director to get a card - there's Director Isard.

More like "Director sits-at-home"
I almost never use her unless I bring Slicer tools
I suppose that like Yularen they could give his first name Orson, rather than his title.

Then you can role-play being the devastator bursting out of light speed and just wreck house!

In the book Catalyst He part of the Republic then Later Imperial Corps of engineers.. Or atleast that's what His uniform is supposed to represent. He's also a Lieutenant Commander and then a Full commander in the book.. However, the Catalyst is set some 15-20 or so years before Rogue one, so he could have been promoted to an Admiral's rank by Rogue One.

I did that lastnight lol.
Home One, 2 shields in the front arc, ECM exhausted thanks to the MS1 ion cannons on the Interdictior. Vader at the helm of the Devastator with XI7'S and down to just a brace token.
Devastator fired 3 red, 5 blue, 3 black into the front arc of Home One 1 acc and 11 damage...INSTANT DESTRUCTION!!
So no Gunnery team?
So no Gunnery team?
Oh it had gunnery teams and a Weapons lasion I just chose to focus on the flagship
Only if he comes in the Death Star expansion, you know the one which makes you light your play mat on fire.
While I'd love to see Krennic at the helm of a battle group of experimental designs (Defenders, Phantoms, Interdictor) I agree he makes the most sense as an officer. He's questionably got the authority to command forces, but he probably wouldn't be competent. Not that that's stopped Ozzel or Konstantine...
Why not make him a new type of upgrade? Like a sub-commander (needs a better name) that affects his ship at first. If the flagship is destoryed, his ship becomes a new flagship and his ability affects the entire remainder of the fleet? Vice or Rear Admiral perhaps.
I suppose you could always make him a squadron, either Lambda or his new shuttle, and his ability makes him constantly whine to superiors about his toy being taken away.
Be careful not to choke on your own aspirations.
Edited by MarinealverKrennic feels more like officer material to me. I think he'd find more prominence in Imperial Assault or Rebellion as a central figure, but someone in the background for the other games.
And yeah, for his ability it should be something like self-harming for the sake of an ambitious effect. Krennic spent most of the movie chasing his ambitions to his detriment... he's a character who has made a lot of rash, bad decisions for the sake of trying to get ahead that comes back to hurt him.
In that light, I don't think he could make commander-grade material.
I loved the subplot of Imperial management politics, Krennics oafish attempts to get ahead and how Tarkin and Vader (Vader especially) interact with him.
Krennic if he is part of the "engineering" branch of the Imperial military could easily be able to hold field command. It just depends on structure. In many services there is a dedicated "command" track eg in the air force combat leaders basically come from flying squadrons, in the navy combat leaders are warfare officers as opposed to engineers.
But I think I read somewhere that in other nations services coming up through the engineering roles IS the leadership track (US Navy? Think it was in Tom Clancy so it must be right.....)
I think part of Krennics agenda was to leverage his success with the Death Star into political power so he could have commanded the resources he thought he deserved.
Not commander, but as an officer choice more than likely. Special weapons director...
Officer (7-10 points)
Ship Krennic is attached to gains either a refit (any) or turbolaser slot
Be careful not to choke on your own ambition.
Actual phrase was as I recall "Be careful not to choke on your aspirations" which is punny-er because to aspirate, is to breath roughly.
