too many options now....Corran Horn

By Wiredin, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I'm a big fan of the E-Wing, and I feel that there could be some fun had in building with Corran outside of the normal builds. But now it's a matter of building around him.... Before it seemed you always put a heavy hitter, someone tanky with Corran. Miranda, a Falcon... but things change when you change the EPT... so now what?

Corran takes the evades from the GSP and Jake. Why Jake? because I got the points to run him instead of a GSP, and he will still get some aces with the snap shot, and Juke won't do much for him after Corran fires. Corran will get 6 dice at range 1... how beautiful. But A-Wings are still A-wings, which means... they will die.

Cassian keep a steady stream of tokens going to Corran while Corran does Corran things, not to mention clearing his stress at the start of the round. Since Corran does not need the focus token for offense he can use a focus/evade from Jyn/Jan combo for defense and still use of his re-positioning tools to aid in getting into the right location.
Those are the two main ideas I was looking at... anyone see any better ways to build around those new EPT's and using them on Mr. Horn?

On your first list, I would Juke instead of Snap on Jake. Here's the thought. Corran fires first to get his TL, don't use Swarm on that first Shot. Jake can fire with his Juke and so can the GSP. Then in the end phase, after the opponents tokens are probably spent, you grab the evades and hit them hard, 5 dice with a TL (focus too possibly), 6 at range 1. Firing late in the round I think is the best use of Swarm Leader, because then your not losing defense to increase your offense, you are just using unused tokens.

Expertise is interesting too. With losing PtL on both of these though, I wonder how important Engine Upgrade is. You have the Barrel Roll repositioning naturally, and an extra 4 points would allow you to grab prockets and GC on Jake on the first list.

Expanding on that theory... what about moving GSP out for Tycho and giving Adaptabilty to Jake. That puts everyone at PS 8. Allowing one to choose your activations. This gives more flexibility on the Swarm Leader and Juke scenario. No longer using Snap Shot, and ditch the engine upgrade.

Theory is:

Corran always fires last, Jake and Tycho fire first, have the Evade token for Juke, then can pass it off to Corran if he wants it for the first shot or the double shot depending on the situation.
