Next Up YOUNG HAN SOLO!

By Joe Boss Red Seven, in X-Wing

I'm pretty sure Disney owes the giant pile of Fett and Mandalorian fans some fan service by having him escape the Sarlacc.

Off Topic forum meet JBR7. JBR7, meet the off topic forum. I'm sure you'll be good friends!

;)

Tell dat to the dozen ROGUE ONE Topics all up front... lol.

Dammit do you want Lando's Lady Luck in the game or not?!

I tried, they don't care.

And no, not really. It's a pleasure yacht, not a smuggling freighter or a fighter.

And it's ugly to boot. As if someone took a boat and added space engines. If I wanted that I'd have stuck to Spelljammer. :P .

we already have the ship type seen in Rebels and Clone Wars. it seems rather.. large, for a young Lando.

Personally, i don;t want to see how he meets chewbacca. let them be working together already.

i want to see Lando flying the Falcon. I want to see Lando being a (friendly) rival to Han.

what i want to see what Han was flying before he got the Falcon off Lando. i want to see the game that got him the Falcon. (and i want to see Han being gracious and giving Lando whatever clunker Han was flying so lando won't be out of work)

i want to see Han doing legit smuggling. crime. i don't want him actually being some secret rebel operative or even sympathetic to them beyond how much they can pay. this is the younger version of Han as of the start of ANH.. perhaps a little less cynical but self centered, pragmatic, and more about money than idealism. if you have ot make him idealistic, make sure that idealism hurts. that the events of the film leave him the self centered jerk from ANH. make that rescue of Luke mean something still.

honestly i'd love for a firefly vibe to the film. would fit well, i think.

I want to see Han shooting first.

Making a bold prediction here. Han Solo movie will be quite good but will not get good reception from the fans. The Boba Fett movie that i heard is suppised to be the next 'in betweener' will have astoundingly good reception from fans.

I for one am excited for the Han Solo film. Especially because the character of Lando is returning. And i love me some Lando. (Picked a good actor for him as well imo. Looks the part)

Who knows we may get an Imperial Han Solo or a Scum Lando.

The problem with Han is that he is kind of an ass.

That he is the favourite character of so many of us is testament to Harrison Ford. He lends such charm and charisma that Han is like that guy I'm sure we all know.. he is a bit of a tool but you can't quite stop yourself from liking him. He is (weird connotations un-intended..) "your tool".

Han isn't like Luke, doing good for the sake of doing good (and having some excitement). He is very much out to look after number one but his loyalty to his friends redeems him and stops him short of anti-hero. That's one of the things i love about the OT. We see the developing relationships with Luke and Leia have an indelible effect on Han.

Young Han has to be a charismatic asshat. A likeable villain pretty much. If we see him win the Falcon, surely something underhand went down, there's no way he won it fair and square, no matter what he says in Empire.

In a franchise of black and white, Han is the glorious grey and I do worry how well it can be pulled of and as others say if it will just be "When Han(ny) met Chewy" and acquiring the Falcon.

That said though, a selfish braggart having his conscious wake up for the first time leading him to rescue Chewie could really be a whole movie in itself if done well. It doesn't really add anything new but then neither does R1 I'm that sense.. we already knew it happened we just didnt quite know how.

Bah, screw this. I clearly don't have a clue and will either love it or hate it largely depending how well the actor fills Harrison Fords shoes.

I can't believe no one has said this yet...but Kessel Run. I really would like to see the Kessel Run. All that stuff about winning the Falcon and such, maybe even have a (2 years later) gap after he is hiding from some body he ripped off in the second act (only way to repay this debt is Kessel Run). The third act we see a rippin hot rod Falcon making this epic 12 minute chase scene through the Kessel Run.

The end is just pure Han on top of the Galaxy....and he probably rips the person off a second time (just not Jabba. Because no way is Jabba gonna stand for that crap all the way through ANH)

Honestly Han could (should?) carry 2 movies and have enough content to be good.

The first one could be called "The Fast and the Furryest"

Yes, yes, oh God yes! And I want "sequels" to the Han movie. Not chronological sequels- just same cast and stuff.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

The Kessel Run: A Star Wars Story

Jabba's Hookah : A Star Wars Story

And please standby for my Ice Pirates The Collectible Miniature/Card/Dice Board Game Kickstarter link ....coming soon.

When I heard the mouse had acquired Disney I was sort of glad. I figured worst case scenario they make a couple of 'safe' films dictated entirely by market research all written by committee and generally avoiding letting an individual get too much power and making another phantom menace... And we got Force Awakens. Exactly what I expected. Enjoyable, safe.

Then Rogue One blew me away. I never expected them to actually make something like that... And I'm glad that trying something different for the franchise seems to be paying off for Disney... But I'm worried that they will take away the wrong message.

I suspect you'll find that they'll stay "enjoyable and safe" for 'proper' star wars episodes (because they don't want an 'omg the prequels' backlash), whilst using the "star wars story" badge to experiment a bit.

But, as noted, what do I know? This is the same franchise management company who, whilst DC were agonising over "whether the world was ready for a wonder woman film", made a box-office busting science fiction film starring a racoon and a tree...

Do we want to see these films go the MCU route? Han hints at Boba Fett movie. Boba Fett Movie is about doing Vaders work. Han 2 merges Boba Fett. Lando gets a movie, soon we have Star Wars Smugglers of the Galaxy that has an epic 4 film franchise tied together.

Would be very tricky considerering we have all those old movies with the civil war thing going on.

Disney must have a golden shovel for this.

Depends on the era. Han didn't, as far as we know, have much to do with the rebels prior to that unfortunate bar fight. The whole Revenge of the Sith to Rogue One era is only covered by Rebels, after all.

Boba Fett was last seen in the Clone Wars in Bounty and Dark Disciple (a 'new canon' book). He's a young-ish kid running a bounty hunting syndicate. He doesn't have mandalorian armour, or slave 1.

The next time we see him is following the Mafiosi Slug in Han's docking bay on Tatooine. There's a whole hell of a lot of stuff you could do to fill in the intervening time; if you wanted to use the episode of his life on Concord Dawn, for example. Fett's movie could easily cover that time period.

I think I'd enjoy a Fett movie more than the Han move. I'll watch it anyway though.

YUP...

:D

Scum YT-1300 anyone? :P

Who am I kidding it would probably be some new pancake for the Rebels and another TIE for the Imperials.

Scum might actually get the movie tie in this time. Because of the film releases they usually get the short end of the ship stick, hence why you get double Scum waves to keep catching up.

THIS Film should have all kinds of fun and cool SCUM elements in there, if they stay true to HAN SOLO's past...

These are the guys who took a stupid concept as a movie about Legos, and turned it into something AWESOME. I trust them.

So Han Solo will be voiced over by Will Ferrell and Lando by Will Arnett?
