[RPG] heroes of rokugan

By Kyuketsuki, in Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game

ive not run l5r for awhile now and have got the bug again, while looking around for a good time to run in, i cam across the heroes of Rokugan campaigns.

i loved what i saw, but after reading a handful of the first adventures, i find it very unconnected. i have no idea if this is supposed to be the case or not? or later if they coalesce into a campaign.

what im really asking is if anyone has used the material and did you run the adventures as is, and if so how well did they work as a campaign. or did you have to connect them together or just use some of the adventures [i saw some have multiple parts].

i would love hear from those that have played or run the heroes stuff, and what worked and what didn't.

thanks

So the modules are sort of loosely connected. It's dive this way so you can play (most) of them in any order you want and not feel lost. Some of the latter modules are built off of the earlier ones to create a storyline to follow, but not all of them. This is working as intended.

This is because there is not just one or one group of authors fir these, anyone can write and submit for approval. This means I could write mod 007 about a crane village being raided by bandits, than I can write mod 025 about how it was discovered those bandits were funded by the scorpion aND now we are visiting the nearest scorpion court to investigate, than I write mod 042 where things settle out on a "border skirmish" and have a mass battle scenario.

Think of HOR like an episodic TV series. You have episodes that follow the main plot, episodes that follow a consistent side plot, and then there are episodes that are just little fun self contained adventures.
