I think until we have the UPS, there isnt a good support ship for strikers. Decimators are too expensive and lack the punch w/o the proper crew (i.e. not being a support) to be a good third ship to 2 strikers, feth lambdas, and like i said in my OP tie shuttles cant keep up. Major Striden will be an amazing support ship for these things, range 1-3 Fleet/Hux and Systems Officer on a platform that also has firepower.
So, lets go for raw power.
Imperial Trainee 17 x2
Light Frame (2)
Title (0)
Pure Sabacc (22)
VI (1)
Light Frame (2)
Title (0)
Countess Ryad 34
PTL (3)
Mk2 (1)
Titlex7 (-2)
Total: 99pts
Four 3die platforms, all 4 are crazy fast/nimble. The question isnt can they kill things, its will they eff up each others flight patterns lol.
Could optionally drop Mk2 on Ryad and put Swarm Leader on Sabacc. Im not a fan of PTL on Ryad w/o Mk2 though so i'd probably drop her to Juke and just keep Mk2 on her lol
Edited by Vineheart01So what can you do with 55pts that really punishes turrets? That's how much I have left to bring the paying with.
Fight turrets with turrets on a Decimator? Oiccun could fit there with a few upgrades.
Yeah, stress dealing mechanics will probably neuter them. However the Rhymer Stresser specifically wouldnt be a problem...
So you'll do green moves for a whole game? Because I can assure you that an Intel Agent, Tactician and Snap Shot Rhymer will be stressing you every single turn. I'm certain the striker could shrug it off if it had a green turn maneuver, but it doesn't. Stress of any kind will limit them badly. And what about the turn you dial in a red maneuver, then get stressed beforehand?...
In terms of jousting, the striker can't target lock, meaning you're at ATT 3 + focus level offense, which plinks off of most ships these days. You're literally on par with the X-wing there. If you want maneuverability the Inquisitor and Interceptor are there. If you want firepower the Defender is a trump. I just don't see it working out well.
55 pts is a real difficult number. Not enough for two small-base ships, too much for one large base utility ship. Maybe...
2 x Royal Guard TIE (27) - Gives you good anti-turret ability.
Push The Limit
Autothrusters
or:
Howlrunner (21) - Serious offense, decent health. Its the jousting answer to turrets.
Swarm Leader
+ 3 x Academy Pilots (12)
Kylo Ren with Swarm Leader and 2 FO escorts!!!!
Havnt put my thoughts towards the shuttle yet. But that doesn't look as cool. Seriously, think about how cool it would be to have a custom deci and 2 strikers?!?!?
