Please FFG no more new ships in 2017

Wonder how many screams of 'TRAITOR' occur after you've been skipped 3 times in a row?

I can't imagine that they'll stop producing new ships, but I have to agree with the OP that my collection is pretty much sated. (I did pick up two TIE Strikers yesterday, though - right before going to see Rogue One - it's awesome.)

I do think it would be awesome for them to work on something beyond what they've been doing. I play Armada as well, and I'm eagerly anticipating the Corellian Conflict campaign coming out sometime next week. Stuff like that would be cool for X-Wing too.

And while I won't buy it (I only fight for the Empire), I do want them to put an epic ship out for Scum. I've been having fun playing epic, and I'd really like to see Scum have huge-ship options as well.

I wish they'd bring out a campaign-centered expansion (with or without miniatures), if only as an experiment. Maybe there are good reasons not to do it, but I'm kind of starting to feel I committed my money to the wrong game; Armada (terrible name BTW) and the skirmish/ground shooting game, Assault something, seem to contain much more in the vein of scenarios.

A game I used to spend quite some money on, even if I didn't get to play as often as I liked, was GW's Lord of the Rings. That had a very good mix of scenarios and points match variations, with or without objectives. Each Lord of the Rings book received its own sourcebook, that allowed you to play through the saga. There were hypothetical scenarios, but most were historical, and you could replay events from the books and/or the films. That was fun. If you wanted to, you could use rules where armies had to be thematic, so characters from very different ages could not be fielded in the same army, but it was also possible to min/max the most efficient army.

X-Wing right now is a very complete game as it stands,

For me, it's just starting to get interesting. The more ships and combos, the better.

An entire year with nothing new would really blunt my enthusiasm.

I will say, the new designer blood has been great so far.

Would love to see "underdogs" packs instead of Aces and Veterans.

Imperial Underdogs: Punisher (with a fix that could help bombers as well), Tie/Sf or Firespray

Rebel Underdogs: no clue :)

Scum Underdogs: no clue :)

In my opinion, waves 9 and 10 were way too close to each other. I'd prefer if FFG slowed down, focusing more on scenarions, a campaign box and maybe aces packs, with only a bit of completely new stuff.

I'm okay with new ships. But I would like them to slow it down to three ships per wave (one per faction) and take it easy with the update/fix expansions. Maybe devote the time and resources spent on making the latter into releasing ships that are viable to begin with.

K. I am a big fan of both startrek and starwars. I started off with startrek attack wing. It wasn't long before I switched over to x wing. Why? Because attack wing was releasing new waves of ships every month. 1-3 ships per month. Solid. What happened? There game became stupidly complicated and out of whack balance wise. Also trying to keep up with the latest "op combo" was just annoying.

X wing is different. At least it used to be. We aren't near the 1 wave per month increment of attack wing. But the increase in waves and ships has me very worried that x wing will end up in the same situation if they aren't really careful and/or slow down their releases a bit.

I doubt they will though. Most companies rarely take a long term approach. My guess is they will just keep pumping out stuff until the games broken and either start over or move on to something else.

Pah. I'm absolutely down with the number of ships coming out each year. I'd just hope they were a little more pread-out. These double-movie-tie-in-waves, i.e. 5 ship waves, are a bit much. I'd much rather have 5x3 ships than 3x5 ships.

I'd rather have 3x3, but well thought out and interesting.

While I agree with the OP, they won't stop making ships because folks who have too/need to have new shinny ships will always been complaining about not getting new ships... :)

Agreed w/ Costi.

I'd love to have more odd and unique ships rather than Interceptor No. 919815 with X instead of X.

Things such as Sabine's TIE are kinda pushing it for release to me. Its very simplistic. It still has Hux's condition and Captured TIE to make it stand out as not JUST a tie fighter though so i guess im fine with it.

Things such as the tugboat, strikers, shadowcaster, and ARC/SF on the other hand are awesome inclusions. Either because they introduce a completely new mechanic (mobile arc, ailerons, rev moves) or allow a twist on old mechanics via upgrades available (ARC/SF, previously no crew could interact with a mech and no sensor could interact with a tech).

Quality over quantity. Otherwise we get gak like the Punisher.... who's role overlaps with a vastly better ship for the job.

Technically, Sabine's TIE does introduce an entirely new mechanic--the stolen vessel. This basic theme could be used for any ship that is in the hands of the wrong people. . .Shuttle Tydirium, Rogue One, etc. for the Rebels.

Heck, Scum should be rife with this kind of trick!!

Even the Imperials could get in on the act. . .Imperial spies flying around, looking like civilians. . .
