Corellian Conflict Squadrons (in French)

Y-Wing squadron lose "heavy" and changes its anti-ship weapons : 2 blue dice.
Norra Wexley is a badass Y-Wing girl : She allows bombers at distance 1 to hit +1 shield of the target when they get a critical dammage on a die.

Green Squadron for A-Wing : they are bombers but their counter attack is 1.

Zertik Strom is not really interesting... I hoped FFG made a good pilot for this squadron (nobody play Tie advanced...), his ability is : you can chose 1 friendly squadron at distance 1, this squadron take 1 damage and you can reroll all the dice you want when you attack. He's 3 red dice... well, it's not bad but this guy won't be my first choice, there are many other squadrons more efficient...

Well, someone wasn't happy that the board was made out of exactly what we thought it would be.

even though we knew it was going to be like this, it still feels kind of cheap for FFG standards

Thats really disappointing about the map. I wont be buying it for quite a while now...Ill just play with the group at my FLGS. Dang.

I'll admit.

I'm surprised people were buying it for the Map...

...

I'm paying $30 for New Objectives and wider Squadron options for models I already own.

I mean...

The map isn't even reusable...

Why do you care about quality when you can literally only use it once?

wow.... Why does this thing cost 30 bucks?pic3303129_lg.jpg

Because it is money spent on a one use cheapo piece of paper lol. Im not like most Xwing and Armada players...I would never buy a pack or box just for cards. So, that aspect of CC is not worth it to me. Ergo, what I was really looking forward to was the map. Id rather laminate the stickers and turn those into reusable tokens than have a permanent set up anyway.

From all accounting - there appears to be literally just enough in the Box to run the campaign once...

6 Fleet Sheets... 1 Rebel Flowchart, 1 Imperial Flowchart... Map with Stickers....

Which means it is disposable... There's enough non-campaign, game-and-tournament legal stuff in there to justify buying it, and just happening to get a campaign set at the same time...

Which is why I'm not bothered at all...

No Pops??? WHat? Most senior pilot at Yavin gets no love from FFG.... I mean he's not even in X-Wing....

This isn't buying a Nebulon-B to get one copy of XI7s... Or buying a Starviper just for Autothrusters...

This is a doubling of Objectives - arguably the signature part of the Armada game system in compared to the other games...

Considering getting a second copy of the basic objectives sets me back $15 on Ebay.... I'm happy to double my variety in Objectives alone, and then get the Extra Squadron Cards and Discs...

The paper map is going to end up laminated, for sure... And I've alreayd got MagTokens set up from my Infinity Sets to turn the Stickers in... But I see the clear design system in place.

And furthermore....

The only aspect of this that could even be construed as a surprise is how many times they've folded the Map....

.... It was never claimed to be anything but paper....

Still no full dagger squadron :(

The other problem with a paper map is that we were expecting a production delay because of high-quality cardboard. To then end up with a flimsy paper map is... disappointing. I'll be heading to Kinko's to laminate mine.

I mean, we don't even know the name of Dutch if not spoken by Pops just before Pops is killed...

Did the forums-commenters come to some sort of agreement the delay wasn't production related, but a simultaneous CC / Wave 5 release?

... Its not FFG's fault if you expect something more than what they've said is going to happen.....

Why so defensive lol? Work at FFG much? ;) (kidding)

In all seriousness: I would love more stuffz to add to my normal games/tournament gear. But from what I saw the only 'carry over' stuff is the Squadron cards (again, not gonna just buy cards), or the Objective Cards (It's 15$ on ebay for 12 cards? What a ripoff!), which are not worth 30$ to me lol. So is there something else, or is it just a matter of perception of value?

EDIT: Also not sure where you're shopping: the cards on ebay that I see are 8$ PLUS the tokens, and that's for a 'best offer' option. So sure, I'll pay 8$ for CC :)

Exactly. Just laminate the map and stop whining, jeez

perception of Value.

You refuse, point blankly, "not to buy cards"....

That's cool and all.

But it doesn't distinguish what those cards are, and what value they have to the game in total....

Like I said, if this was buying a Neb-B for XI7 (A full Box for 1 or 2 upgrade cards), then yes. I'd be with you.

But its more than that.

Its 16 Alternate Squadrons (With their Discs and Cards).

And 12 Objectives

And the Cards and New Obstacles to use said New, Game-Changing Objectives.

I'll admit.

How would one go about laminating the map?

I don't know the size of the map, but it is quite large. And last time I checked, to laminate a 3x2 poster I made for a contest cost a little over $100 without tax at OfficeMax. Is it reasonable to pay ~$50 to laminate the map?

A better option would be to pin it to a piece of cardboard and get some strong magnets and glue them to the tokens. Place one on the map and the other on the back. Or get a piece of Plexiglas for $10 at Home Depot and tape the map to that so you can still place stickers and preserve the paper.

The other option is to accept the fact that this map is eminently disposable, and just pin it to the wall and put stickers on it :D

The way I see it - the map seems to be designed to be on the wall, not on the table. So poster-sized paper map makes total sense.

Well I'd assume you would need the map to make a decision where you will be attacking, so you might end up taking it down a lot to go play the campaign.

Or have a bunch of your friends get CC, it's likely they want squads and objectives too, and now you have 6 maps.

I'll admit.

Get Thee to a Hobby Lobby, STAT!

Edit: It might actually be Mardels. They are right next to each other, and when we shop, we generally go to both.

perception of Value.

Fair enough.

So, as you acknowledged that the actual campaign pieces seem to be 'one use only' material, that means really we're paying 30$ for 12 Objective cards, 16 alt squadron cards, and 16 alt squadron 'base' discs (cardboard). Seeing as the original 12 Obj cards go for, apparently, 8$ on ebay, that means I'd have to value the alt squadron cards/discs at 22$. Seeing as the fighter packs are roughly 22$ MSRP but come with 8 squadrons AND the minis, that would mean the minis would have to be valued at the same cost (11$ for 8 'bases' worth) as the cards. So, 22$ for 16 cards versus 11$ for 8. I suppose that is indeed a fair price. In which case it just comes down to my personal dislike for just buying paper :)
