behind empire & new hope, I think thiis is the third best SW . . . I really expect to see large & epic ships from this movie some time.![]()
3rd Best Star Wars movie - more ships I expect
I agree, Hammerhead epic is almost a certainty, being in both Rebels and Rogue One. And it could easily be paired with A-Wings from Rebels or X-Wings from Rogue One.
Definitely needs either a title or mod for ramming hammering greatness.

Really???
I would think there's virtually zero chance of them making a 3rd Rebel huge ship. Epic just simply doesn't see that much play. I Do think it'll show up in other formats though. Armada for sure, since that's pretty much the ideal setting for it.
If Huge ships were an x-wing priority, we'd have seen Scum huge ships by now. I just don't think it's going to happen.

An eventual certainty. I do hope that Scum epic comes first.
Was the rebel flagship a new design?

yup
Corvettes look more like Hammerheads for me. That one was definetively a space rhino!

Good point ... I think if ffg packages an epic ship with a couple of non variant ships, game changing cards and rule mods to make epic play a bit more faster and funner, I think it will sell. My opinion
My least favorite scene in Rogue One. Remind me how the Empire came to power if their Capitol Ships are killed by, well... by movie-scripts alone?

Because the Rebels used a significant portion of their fleet to attain a victory there. They lost most of them in the battle, leaving them without any to assist at Yavin 4. They also lost Blue Squadron, who were on the surface of Scarif when the Death Star fired.
And after all that, the Rebels only managed to destroy two Star Destroyers. The Empire have the facilities to replace their ships far more easily than the Rebellion.

theres always one guy
Sure they will make it, and it will ship with another X-Wing with the fabled "fix."

He's not totally wrong though. The idea of how they used it, while cool on screen was a bit over the top. I liked it, but I can at least understand his point of view.
Back on topic, I doubt they will make this ship even though it is now in two canon sources. Two reasons. 1) Epic is pretty much a dead game mode. It is relatively long, drawn out, and boring(compared to regular play) and is no where near as successful as standard play.(I'm not sure, but I would bet it isn't anywhere near as profitable either) 2) The Hammerhead would not fit in a Epic box. The packaging would have to be bigger and would therefore take up more shelf space in stores. Not good for business.

Epic play is not dead... It's just played outside the stores. My friends and I prefer epic since it feels much more cinematic. Flying fighters between the cruisers as the big ships dance just feels Star Wars. It does not play well for death matches but in a fun environment it plays better than standard play.
Profit margin though, you're likely right.
Point two is also valid.
Unspoken in your post but was noted elsewhere... No epic scum yet and that I would expect next if anything. I don't expect a Hammerhead any time soon if ever.
I have "hope" that more epic ships will be built.
Just an idea ... Can't the hammerhead and other epic size ships be sold as components WITH non variant ships? Kinda like the way Mavel Legends does "build a figure" .... That way the price point could drop by half-ish.
Wild thought ...
1 - Hammerhead Fore WITH Assaukt Gunboat.
2 - Hammerhead Aft WITH Missile Boat
Kill me if you don't like the smaller ships ... Sub in any ships you want .... Just gimme the Hammerhead!!
Epic just simply doesn't see that much play.
And since they usually package them with regular ships with insanely good upgrade cards, they usually sell quite a lot of them, even if nobody ever uses the big ship itself.
I have to say, casual Epic play is my favorite version of the game.
We play Epic every so often, and at times play it with four players. A Hammerhead Corvette would be cool. A Scum Epic ship would be cool as then we wouldn't get smashed by Scum 300 point swarms!
We play epic occasionally. Just because it is not the main tournament format of the game does not mean that it is "dead".
That said, I'd expect the Hammerhead to show up in Armada rather than X-Wing.
Epic is the best and pretty much only way to play 4-player with players that aren't competitive. It's more "fun" and party variant of the game. If they need to, they can add some powerful cards to epic ship to make sales bigger. I'm pretty sure many players would buy hammerhead to play Rogue 1 scenarios alone.
Some of us are just too impatient to wait for FFG,
:
I actually started it last weekend...who knew! ![]()
Man, epic is the best version of the game! 6 player, 3vs3, beer and pretzels with good friends, well painted squads, cunning squad interactions and calamitous epic ship bumper cars, what more do you want from life?
What is sorely lacking is FFG support for the game mode. Where's the epic-only tournament pack? ![]()

I need more acrylic energy tokens!

Bull****!!!! All I play is Epic. What you mean to say is Epic doesn't see much sanctioned tournament play.
In fact, my bro is going to be here in 1 hour to play 1,000 point per side. He is bringing 2 corvettes!! It would be UBER KEWL if they were different.
