Oh well, here's the squadrons preview

By Sybreed, in Star Wars: Armada

No mention of rapid launch bays..... so I guess we'll need this FAQ ASAP.

One of the most anti-climactic articles I guess :)

hence the title ;)

Confirmation that they are due to be available next Thursday at least!

Hmm... By the time we see the next preview, it seems Corellian Conflict will already be buyable. I still don't know how the campaign's core game mechanics function, but I'll be buying it anyway.

there's an article for that

I get the impressions that FFG got surprised that they were able to release the expansions at this time. The lack of articles for a long time followed by the rapid fire release of the articles kind of speaks to this.

Edit: Nvm, relay is passive. Ignore

So everything from CC and Wave 5 is known ...

...except for the Tie Advanced squadron cards from CC?

*Lancer is amazing. Bomber, Grit, Rogue, black dice vs. ships for 15 points :D , why was the Firespray 18 points again?

2 more hull and 2 blue bomber

Wait... Are the Imperial squads grey or black? That's huge for us that color ours. :D

Oh hey nice thread :P

Also -1 speed and loosing Grit.

Don't get me wrong Firesprays are nice, I just like YT2400 and Lancers a lot better points/effectiveness wise.

Lancers, while ugly, will be worth every point spent.

Geez FFG, can't rebels get a decent looking good ship for once? (looking at you, assault frigate mark 2)

Let me see if I understand Relay correctly. Say I have a ship with Squadron 2. I have two generic Ghosts with Relay 1, both are far away from my ship and far away from each other. If I resolve a squadron command on my ship, can I activate both Ghosts? They include themselves in the Relay 1 requirements, and I'm not limited to only using one relay point or something a turn, right?

From what I can tell, you're not actually Activating the VCXs when you bounce Squadron Commands through them... Just that they're basically Nodes for Squadron Commands... Of course, they are within Distance 1 of themselves, so you could use it to activate them.

And if we use "Multiple card, multiple effect" Reasoning (Which makes BCC and Targeting Scramblers stack), then yes... Squadron 2 from a Ship, on a Dial, could bounce 1 through 1 VCX, and 1 through another VCX... Anywhere on the Table... Weather that activates the VCXs or another Squadron within 1-3 of them, is up to you....

Edit: never mind, I missed that you said exactly that...

So you could activate a Relay ship, move it, and activate a squad at range 1-3 of that. Pretty nifty.

If your Relay Ship was within Close-Medium of your Squadron Command Ship to start with...

Because Only one can be bounced through a VCX in this case - and if the VCX is far enough away to need to be the recepient of the Relay - then you'd need a different command to then Relay to someone else...

...

A Lambda on the other hand... :D

TIE Phantoms sure like to hang around space stations. Whisper could theoretically heal up to six hull points in a single round without any help.

wait, if I want to activate a shuttle at long range without boosted comms, can I since it has relay?

wait, if I want to activate a shuttle at long range without boosted comms, can I since it has relay?

It is at distance 1-3 of itself. So yes.

Doesn;'t have to be Long Range, either.

It can be anywhere on the Table...

And you could then potentially use the second relay order to then order someone within Distance 1-3 of it.

I think so but it takes up one of your relay points.

edit - Dras beat me to it

Indeed! Lambdas and Gozantis are going to be best friends.

Interesting how the +1 Relay on the Lambda is worth the same points as +2 hull and much better anti-squadron, by the way.
