Cities of Adventure variant: Midnight Expansion

By Warbringer25, in Runebound

I have posted a new Cities of Adventure variant for the Runebound: Midnight expansion. These rules also contain detailed rules for playing without a Night Lord player. The file can be found at:

I still wish I could find a copy of Runebound Midnight. Your variation seems rather interesting though. Maybe I can modify Runebound enough to try these out. I'd love to have a nice high rez image of the board and cards for Midnight so I can at least play the game.

There are a few copies of Runebound Midnight on BoardGameGeek but they are very expensive.

I acquired one the end of 2009 for $84 including shipping.

In my crazy excitement for anything Runebound I bought every expansion as soon as it came out. And I'm very happy to have Midnight.
I don't know why it wasn't liked. It does make Runebound very different but it is a good expansion.

Even if FFG doesn't release Midnight again as it is now I'm sure they'll pull out all the content that is compatible with the base Runebound and make it available to us again in some form. Who knows when they'll get to it but they did eventually release those 4 promotional characters to everyone after some time. I think the same will be true for content from Midnight. Hopefully Midnight will come back in it's entirety.

I got RB a few months ago & in checking out the Expansions discovered Midnight & knew thats what I realy wanted. It took some weeks but some copies came up on e-bay & I got it for $40 + shipping. It's a cool game & if you don't like the Night King thing it's easy enough to Robo that mechanic.
