So this is a very powerful upgrade and I really like it, but I never fly scum, and Imperial Vets isn't really great for my collection, when I fly empire it's almost always interceptors. So what I'm asking is what did all of you "Crack Swarm" players end up doing? Do I just need to bite the bullet?
Looking for crack... shot
eBay, friend... eBay.
Bite the whole bullet. The khiraxz comes with a lot of good stuff in it.
Broaden your horizons. There is no such thing as too many ships.
I bought 5 Kihraxz and 1 Hounds Tooth, sold 3 Kihraxz models to a friend to change into Klingon and Romulan starships.

I needed both Predator and Engine Upgrade, so I bought 4 Kihraxz and 2 YV-666. I kept them all because mine mine mine mine mine
MINE
I bought 5 Kihraxjqzy before they were cool.
1 Kihraxz, 1 Hounds Tooth, 2 Imperial Veterans, then I murdered 2 fellow X-Wing players and sold the rest of their collections on ebay to recoup the money spent on the Kihraxz, Hounds Tooth and Imperial Veterans.
Edited by Stay On The LeaderI bought 5 Kihraxz so I could fly 5 Kihraxz as a swarm.
They are often very cheap 2nd hand, fortunately
Kfighters are only 15USD anyway. And they do come with a number of things
The ship is playable enough where if you like the design enough you can find a way to use it. Ive been using Talonbane Cobra in the few scum lists i have tried so far, and hes not dead weight though he isnt the MVP either.

Yea, it can get a lot worst. Someone could own 4 punishers for example. Not saying I do or anything, just a random hypothetical that I threw out there not pertaining to anybody in particular.
I didn't mean to annoy anyone. As a student my cash is tight and space limited. I just hate having ships that collect dust. It feels so wasteful.
Proxy extra copies and then borrow from friends if you need a bunch for a tournament?

...because, one day, a fix will come...
...it will.

Or just proxy for a tournament, no one ever checks.
Silly to drop $75 on ships you don't want for five cards.

Just like that, erm, totally unrelated friend of mine, who bought 2 Defenders when they were released. The wait shall be rewarded.
Ohh I do proxy it's my collector's spirit that makes me need to buy haha. As for fix waiting... I'm sitting on some T-65s that I use often, and am waiting patiently.
Gotta at least love FFG for the fact that ships that need some help seem to eventually get some help. I love me some Punishers; I just want them to... well, punish.
Saddest thing is how close the X-Wing is to not needing a fix, it drops things pretty quick and I like its dial better than the defender (I know sacrilege) but seriously that thing is too fast without the inife fighting turns, and it's K-Turn is super predictable. They're just too effecient at not dying for the old X to compete. So it needs a little something special to get it there.

Oh, you've got the designation wrong...
...it doesn't inflict punishment on the enemy...
...it punishes anyone who opts to fly them.

And to keep the OP's topic, I purchased 2 Syck, 2 Karaxeeraxeraxes and a Houndstooth. I haven't yet flown the Tooth, but the other four actually make a pretty good squad and Cobra is quite the ship to fly; at times he is quite an Ace.
