Hey guys, I've been wanting to utilize Elfhelm's stat-boosts in my Fellowship group but I just can't come up with a deck idea that I like all that well. We are going through the Fellowship Saga quests but since we only meet once a month we are typically trying new decks each time just to play with different decks/themes/mechanics.

Currently here is what the other players are using:

Cidan, Arwen and Erestor - questing and cancels

Mablung, Hama and Eomer - pure combat, mostly offensive

Ori, Dori and Nori - questing and sentinel blocking with various ally dwarves.

It seems we are a bit light on questing, so I keep considering Boromir (Le) for Visionary Leadership, or Aragorn (any) for Sword that was Broken, or Dain - just to boost all the other dwarves from deck #3. Outlands isn't an option because they are just ridiculous and boring to play.

I'd like to include a sentinel leadership character - so either Aragorn (Le), Gimli, or Erkenbrand - to get Armored Destriers on, because those things are amazing and it you get the extra shield from Elfhelm, which is the whole idea in the first place.

So, what do you guys think? Aragorn (Le) is really tempting due to the 3 sphere boosts he could utilize from Elfhelm (after getting Celeborns Stone and Roheryn).

Elfhelm, Dain, LeGimli. With Elfhelm out I'd consider swapping Nori for Oin.

One of the best targets is Amarthiul. All it takes it one Armored Destrier and he can defend for 4 then attack or defend again for 4. I like to pair Amarthiul with Damrod for some traps to power up the Dunedain tricks.

Also, a lot of Rohan heroes benefit from it. Spirit Eowyn, either Theoden, Eomer, and Erkenbrand all get nice buffs. Combine 3 of them in a Rohan deck with Westfold Horse Breeders and it can get pretty strong. Especially on Theoden if you combine Snowmane with Golden Shield or Herugrim.

2 more APs from now we get the Steed of the North. I'm brainstorming a deck with Elladan and Elrohir to use those so they can quest and be ready for combat.

Aragorn if you need a bit more questing, or use Erkenbrand if you need more defense. The latter looks like the more likely situation with the other decks. Bard will really shine though.

I really like that Bard deck idea. Currently I'm thinking the best way to fill in the gaps we have now is an Elfhelm, Erkenbrand, Eowyn (S) deck. This gives me the sentinel and strong defender that I feel we need early on and Eowyn, the best 4 player quester available. She also gives me access to card draw through Elven-Light.

I would choose the Damrod/Amarthiul strategy - because I love traps and Dunedain in the first place - but I feel like I'll be contending too much for enemies against the other two combat decks. If the dwarf deck was more focused on dwarf-swarm/questing, then I'd pick these two in a heart beat!
