Tournament brain and list critique

By RogueCommander, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Been very focused on getting ready for tourney play, maybe too much. I'm at the point where I'm second guessing decisions way too much.

So, I'm aiming for a fleet that is simple, responsive, and can dish out some hurt. After months of basking in the sweet embrace of FCTs and Flight Commanders, I'm officially sick of pushing 8+ squadrons. In a tournament setting, I find it exhausting. I'm not brave enough to go squadronless though, so there's a bit of a screen. Lando is the difference between a 4 of bid or no bid.

So, I'm curious as to some feedback on the list design, and then maybe some things to look out for that this fleet might have a hard time with.

As always, thanks for any advice!

Hi mate!

Are you sure about Mothma? Her ability is pretty good, yes. But... staying the red range means less dice thrown against you, and you can still use the evade. Maybe its just me, but she just isnt meant for corvettes... Second thought: Home one? If you Gonna TRC, wich ship will benefit of the title? The only arc what can benefit from using it is the corvettes front arc, 2 red dices... I dont think it worth it. Also... I would keep the corvettes price down as much as possible, IO seems to be a bit too much. What I can suggest you to tinker with, is taking Craken, swapping home one to a liberty, and mayhaps a transport.

I've faced this build before and it's hard to contend with. if the corvettes stay at high speed and keep cf spamming you can throw a lot of pinging damage. Mothma will prolong the corvettes life but you'll still lose at least two unless you get lucky. All in all I think it would do well.

I've only run this a couple of times, so there's that. But, Mothma and TRCs make CR90s tougher and harder hitting than they have any right to. Yes, you have to be more judicious with your evaded, so you don't burn them too fast, but it hasn't been too tough. By the time they're gone, the ship is either running away, or is about to die... >shrug<

Home One is the product of me wanting to one shot flotillas easier. Spamming CF gives you what you need and the intel officers force tough choices from long range. Steady trickle damage. Three of them tore down an Interdictir very, very fast.

Having said that, Inthink you make great points... and a Liberty version is in the works

This is what I could come up with. If you take out Jainas light and Bright hope, you are on 396 just like your first list. But, in my opinion, 4 points is too low to bid first player. In my meta, you either bid big (10-13pts) or not at all. So, the list:

Faction: Rebel Alliance

Points: 400/400

Commander: General Cracken

Assault Objective: Most Wanted

Defense Objective: Contested Outpost

Navigation Objective: Superior Positions

MC80 Star Cruiser (96 points)

- Intel Officer ( 7 points)

- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)

- Engine Techs ( 8 points)

- X17 Turbolasers ( 6 points)

- Spinal Armament ( 9 points)

= 133 total ship cost

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)

- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)

= 51 total ship cost

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)

- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)

= 51 total ship cost

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)

- Jainas Light ( 2 points)

- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)

= 53 total ship cost

[ flagship ] GR-75 Medium Transports (18 points)

- General Cracken ( 26 points)

- Bright Hope ( 2 points)

- Comms Net ( 2 points)

= 48 total ship cost

4 YT-2400s ( 64 points)

I like it. Drop XI7 for Mon Karren and one T2400 for the new Corellian conflict Rogue Squadron

Here's the variant I'm thinking about. Madine, just because I think the Liberty flies like a tub without him, or maybe I just like how he can make them dance. I prefer the H9s and leading shots combo over Mon Karen, especially with Gunnery Teams. Again, it's that desire to one shot flotillas and cut those opposing activations down fast.

I guess the only other real decision is whether or not to scrap the IOs for a flotilla and that 5th activation.

3x IO= telecom center to feed your lib with tokens to keep it dancing , so it can spam cf and an extra point to your bid. First-last activation is huge.
