Custom Hero Dashboard

By Zsig, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

A few months ago I saw something like this on some video on youtube, some guy's playthrough of Road to Legend. I liked it so much that I finally decided to make my own.

Just wanted to share with you...

Looks like it might be handy.

While I applaude the creativity and dedication, I´m very sceptical, and "handy" would really not be my choice of words for it:

- Cards are hidden from Overlord, I don't think you can do that. I would object.

- You can't put tokens on skill cards since they're in standing position.

- The cards standing are a hindrance for checking fatigue/damage/token status on hero sheet.

- It doesn't quite work beyond 3 skill cards and there is no real solution to item cards. I don't like the fact they´re half covered, it´d bother my eyes every time I try to read the text on them

- Not sure why condition cards are part of the model. Overlord needs them as well.

Otherwise clean design.

Wow, looks like someone is overreacting a bit, hahaha

It's ok, no one's asking you to use them.

I'm the Overlord where I play, and I'm ok with these.

I don' t think I'm overreacting at all, the things I mentioned about are important for game visibility. Of course you can still say that it's not as bad as I described for your group, which is fine. It wouldn't work at all with us, though.

I agree it's not overreacting. This won't work for my group either. It looks very nice though. Is it two layers acrylic, 1 layer wood?

Edit: Do you have the video link?

Yes, 2 layers acrylic and 1 wood, and no, don't have the link...

First, to be clear, I think it is great people use tools that work for them. As Indalecio indicated above, I don't like either of these solutions as both make it very difficult for any player that is not sitting right next to another to see all of the public information (skill cards, hero abilities, heroic feats), etc.

Even the damage and fatigue tokens are difficult to see, which means I won't know who has damage, who has suffered fatigue, exactly how close they are to max, do they have resources available to use, etc.

Still, if they work for you, great ! I do like how they can make the environment around a player very neat and clean.
