Please don't review or spoil the movie until...

By Ken at Sunrise, in X-Wing

Perhaps I'm in the minority. But,

Someone said because of their employment they will be seeing the movie tomorrow and will let us know.

Please don't spoil or review the movie ahead of time

Some have suggested waiting a few months after the release to openly talk about the movie without 'Spoiler Tags'. I think this is a good idea. Please share your thoughts! We would love to hear them. But take care for those that may not get to see the movie until January.

I would also like to request that you withhold your reviews until after the movie is released. And even then please note in the thread title what you are posting about.

Some, like me, prefer the anticipation and enjoyment of going into a movie with few expectations. Some jump to the end of a book to know who did it. But we can respect both, can't we?

This is just a request and I hope it is reasonable.

Thank you and I hope I didn't step on anyone's toes.

Movie????

Movie as in Rogue One, the new Star Wars movie coming out.

Sorry, should have been clear.

The Rogue One team gets the plans to Princess Leia and Darth Vader chases her.

Darth Vader didn't kill Luke's father, he is Luke's father.

There is another Skywalker, its Leia Organa.

Ok, almost done.

Kylo Ren is Ben Solo, and kills his father, Han.

I agree, but I think most people on this forum are already considerate of others wanting to remain suprised. Still nice to put the reminder out there though.

I think everyone should be spoiled because if you need to go into every movie surprised, you're not very smart.

Oh, and while we're at it, keep it in Off Topic, where it belongs.

I would also like to request that you withhold your reviews until after the movie is released.

Also, keep in mind that, at least according to IMDb, the US is one of the last countries to get it.

So, for instance, we Dutchies should keep a lid on it for a day or two at least. ;).

Movie as in Rouge One, the new Star Wars movie coming out.

Sorry, should have been clear.

Best to stay out of my thread if you don't want to know whether or not I liked it, lol.

More because it isn't in Off Topic ;).

Looks like my forum blackout starts tomorrow instead of Thursday.

It's me watching it tomorrow, have no fear that I know better than to spoil anything.

There's a 300 page thread about a kiddie cartoon and a 250 page thread about a ship that doesn't exist in the game.

Fairly sure Rogue One discussions are on topic for this forum. ;)

Movie????

Considering the forum you are in that may actually be one of the stupidest questions someone could ask. At least until this thread gets resurrected a year from now when "the movie" changes :)

It certainly would be nice if people will note spoilers in the thread titles and also if they contain any spoiler information to those thread. I might considered general information about the U-Wing and TIE Striker as somewhat fair game as they have already been spoiled for the game but anything beyond that should remain behind warnings.

Of course when you put up a thread like you're probably going to get someone who feels the need run thread full of spoilers behind a click-bait title. I guess that means one should really try to stay away from any topic which doesn't have a clear title. Something like "What do you think of..." should NOT be used as anything can follow that.

Psst, they do steal the plans. :P

This spoiler is brought to you from the year 1977. Blame goiterless George Lucas and his text crawl.

Sadly I'll have to go see the movie with the crowds on Thursday night to avoid any more spoilers. Though I will get to see all the kids dressed up in their costumes, and by kids I mean people in their 20s and 30s.

You think costumes stop with people in their 20s and 30s?

If you want to look at other movies one might also spoil that Vader and Mothma both survive as does the Death Star. Then again maybe the end will skip over Ep IV and show it blow up from a different vantage point. This is just theory which anyone could come up with.

lmao!

there is a beginning middle and end........

I know I totally spoiled it.

This post kinda reminds me of a guy in facebook who threatened everyone to spoil the Force Awakens to every single person he met, not realizing that he got the wrong timings and got spoilered instead.

Sweet revenge.

Is there a new movie coming out? Is Patrick Stewart returning as Pickard?

Jeez how many of the same thread do we need? You don't want spoilers stop using the net take some personal responsibility.

Oh, and while we're at it, keep it in Off Topic, where it belongs.

I thank you for your desire to keep things where you feel they belong and I do think I understand the reasoning of these comments. However it isn't very practical. If you look at this main topic you'll already see there are Star Wars Rebels discussions and plenty of Rouge One movie topics. Putting in off topic will actually defeat the intend of the post which was to get most views and get the word out. I really didn't want something hidden away for only a few searching to see it. Good idea though, just not very helpful here.

Hobojebus, wow! I thought I always took personal responsibility. I'm surprise you think I'm the kind of person that doesn't. I was only asking for people to be considerate of others and didn't think the request for courtesy was offensive to some.

Best to stay out of my thread if you don't want to know whether or not I liked it, lol.

For the rest of the people who want to know whether or not to get hyped, Here you go: Obviously Spoiler-Free. Heck, I can't even review it until tomorrow when the embargo lifts.

I see a couple threads you've started. Thanks for putting Rouge One in the title and spoiler in the other.

Very much appreciated. :D Big thumbs up.

Spoiler Alert!

Their mission succeeds.
