[CCL] To Catch a Defender

So after hemming and hawing i have decided to add an (pending) entry to the CCL. Hopefully i am not to late and am not stealing any ideas. If so ignore this post ;) . Also it isn't 100% finished yet. Should be very soon. Couple things i would like help with would be

1. Point costs

2. Pictures for the cards

3. How to post the finished cards

4. Dial

So my entry........

The Missile Boat.

Stats

Attack: 2

Agility: 2

Hull: 3

Shield: 6

Reasoning for the stats. It had only a single laser cannon, was also more maneuverable than the XG-1, had hull comparable to a TIE Fighter (according to wookiepedia), and more shield than a B-Wing.

Right now the dial is almost identical to the ARC. Differences being the 4 straight is white and adding a 3 k-turn. (Help needed here).

Action Bar: Focus, Target Lock, SLAM.

Upgrade Bar: 2 torps, 2 missiles, 1 Bomb.

Cards:

PS 2 generic

PS 4 generic with EPT

PS 6 Ace (ability in the works)

PS 7 Ace (ability in the works)

Upgrades

EPT:

Overconfidence

When attacking you may add 1 crit to your roll. If you do decrease your agility value by 1 (to a minimum of 0) until the end of the round

Points: 2-4

Missile:

Advanced Cuncussion Missile

Attack: 4

Range: 2-3

Attack (Target Lock)

Spend your Target Lock and discard this card to perform this attack. If this attack hits, before dealing damage, you may receive 1 stress token for every canceled hit result to remove that number of shield tokens from the defender

Points: 5

Chaff Missile

Attack: 3

Range: 1-2

Attack (focus):

Discard this card to perform this attack.

If this attack hits you may remove 1 focus or evade token from the defender

Points: ?

Cannon:

Jamming Beam:

Attack: 3

Range: 1-3

If this attack hits, the defender recieves 1 jamming beam token. Then cancel all dice results.

Points: 1

Modification:

Advanced Warhead Launchers

When attacking with an equipped missile or torpedo secondary weapon, after rolling attack dice you may acquire a target lock on the defender.

Points:2-3

Title:

Thrawn's Finest

After performing a SLAM action you may acquire a Target Lock

You must equip a Tractor Beam or Jamming Beam upgrade to this card (paying its squad point cost as normal)

Points: 2

Jamming Beam Reference Card:

During the combat phasen a ship rolls 1 fewer attack dice for each jamming beam token assigned to it. During the Combat phase instead of performing any attacks a ship may remove any number of jamming beam tokens assigned to it.

Well that is what i have so far. Sorry for the long post. As i said all of this is not completely finished and still needs some testing and costing. Help and critique is appreciated.

EDIT: Reason for the post title is Missile Boats were used by Grand Admiral Thrawn to hunt down rogue defenders.

You're definitely not too late to enter; we'll start taking official submissions in January (I don't want to start right before Xmas).

There is another Missileboat entry in the works, but I don't see any real overlap in the designs; you're perfectly legal as far as I can tell.

To make the custom cards, you should download Strange Eons (for free) and get the X-wing plugin. It's very easy to use and you should be able to make your own cards there. Most people pull images from the web for card images. If you are worried about stepping on the artists' toes, try finding the x-wing artists on a website and contacting them directly to ask permission. We're not making any money here so I generally don't worry about the art issue. But it is nice to ask anyway.

Thanks for the info Babaganoosh. I already have Strange Eons and have been working on the cards i mentioned above. I just don't know how to get them to come up in a post. Also do you know of any good places on the web that has Missile Boat pics. I can't find all that many. Thanks again.

I use photobucket to host pictures, but I think you can also use imgur(?). Not sure where to find good missile boat pics, though.

Jamming Beam tokens really ought to decay during the Clear Tokens step, even if it's just removing one from the stack rather than clearing all of them.

Ok so how about this for a reference card.

Ships with at least one jamming beam token assigned to it follows special rules during these phases.

Combat Phase: Ships roll 1 fewer attack dice for each jamming beam token assigned to it.

End Phase: Remove 1 jamming beam token from this ship.

I keep seeing a lot of posts start with [CCL]. If I had to guess, I would think it meant something like Custom Card List. Someone care to enlighten me though?

Stands for Custom Card League. Just a way to identify which posts are for that since there is no sub forum for it.

Ability: After performing an attack with an equipped missile or torpedo you may perform a SLAM action.

Not too sure about this one. Seems fun on paper but might be a bit too much. Granted his ability might not trigger more than twice a game but even then it might be to much. On the other hand it could be a fun way to bring in a 'hit and run' style pilot. Also Missile Boats were know to SLAM while firing missiles to add more force to the shot.

Deathwish

At the start of the Combat phase you may recive 1 damage and 1 ion token to remove 1 weapons disabled token from your ship.

I wanted this ability so there could be the possibility of doing a 4 foward, SLAMMING for a kturn, getting a lock from the title, and being able to shoot. Also mught work nice for an opening volley.
