Expertise, IMO, will have to find a place with a ship that can clear stress easy, can live without using a focus action or can take an evade action and/or is a low agility/high health ship....not many options there that fit the bill, but there are a few. Time will tell...

I don't get it

doesn't the focus up your hit chance over a normal die from 50% to 75% (6/8 relevent faces), which is the same as a double 50/50 from a re-rolled die?

why is this better than predator? (also more expensive and more restrictive; easier to grab a more flexible focus to stack with than a more restrictive target-lock)

only thing I can imagine is that it's very easy to stack re-rolls on certain ships, i.e scum with dengar/k4 and empire packing Vessery, while there are less cards that provide a focus bonus (Rey crew, which seems amazing and I am generally weirded out that no one is using)

As I'm currently using a Rey/Norra list this sounds awesome! Time will tell though.

Rhymer with Expertise and Advanced Proton Torpedoes would be a laugh .... until he dies before he's fired off all his ordnance and given your opponent 40ish easy points

Well... if I'm not crazy Expertise is amazing for every ship... I think ships with an X shaped wing might really appreciate that though. They always had poor action economy and were bad at limit pushing. With this they can:

Use R5-P9 without hurting offense

Take Engines or Vector Thrusters and still focus for the shot

Accidentally bump but not be screwed if something else is in arc

Target lock to fire ordinance and devastate enemy ships

Take ordinance AND Integrated effectively.
