I know, kinda late to the party. Just haven't been buying ships recently.
Is the Ghost Worth Purchasing?
If you fly Rebels, absolutely. It adds tons of new crew, a kick ass ship, the Phantom, and right now I think it's only like 30$ on Amazon
Haven't played the ship much; but many of the crew and upgrades are really useful.
It currently comes with the two best crew. It is an awesome ship. And it can be built competitively lots o ways.
Yes, but there aren't too many really good faction neutral upgrades, so it's skippable if you really don't fly rebels (or just dont fly them that often). The ship itself is tournament competitive in a number of configurations (Kaman and Lothal Rebel in particular), with or without the attack shuttle, which can itself be built competitively. Kanan, Hera, Chopper and Sabine crew are all very useful in various builds, on the Ghost itself, but also on other ships (It's Sabine that makes bomber K wings competitive, Dash loves Kanan crew, Hera works mainly on the Ghost (but the right build makes her useful in other situations at 1 point) and Chopper, at 0 points, goes literally anywhere you have an empty rebel crew slot.
Kanan, Sabine and Hera crew are well worth the admission price. The Lothal Rebel is one of the best costed ships in the game IMO. The shuttle is a bit under-powered alone, but a raging Ezra with Inspiring recruit is a fun play for 22pts.
Edited by KasuvariI fly rebels almost exclusively. Thanks for the advice
Also, what are the crew cards?

It comes with Palpatine and Zuckuss? Weird. Guess I need to pick up one after all!

Here they are in simple terms.
Kanan- He gets rid of stress on white maneuvers. (Great on Dash!)
Hera- She lets you do red maneuvers while stressed. (Put her on an ARC with Stay On Target and a Targeting Astromech)
Sabine- Gives you a bomb slot and she increase bomb damage (If you play with bombs, you want her.)
Ezra- While stressed turns a eyeball into a critical (still trying to find a place for Ezra, slightly over priced.)
Chopper- Take one damage to take n action while stressed(Free!)
Zeb- After when you are touching, you and the enemy can fire at each other
**Edited for Chopper
Edited by JadotchI concur with the general sentiments of those above, plus a shout out for pilot Sabine in the Attack Shuttle. Her with PTL can get in three actions a turn with no stress for 24 points. Add Kanan for better maneuverability, or Chewie for better tanking, and you have the basis for a little damage dealer who's hard to pin down.
You got chopper wrong, chop is awesome. Take one damage to perform an action while stressed. Perfect fit for the standard lothal rebel with FCS, ABT, Hera and Chopper crew. That dial and target lock focus on each 4 or 5 dice attack. ^-^
Usually worth that point of damage as you have anyway 16 hp on the ghost.

As if Palpatine would ever survive turn three these days, he is lucky to even reach that these days in his little lousy shutte. Sabine counters basically all Palp lists with her bombers anyway.. ;-)
Still, I think he meant rebel crew options. And even than, hotshot pilot is the new hots imho.

Thanks, corrected in an edit. It has been awhile since I have used Chopper.

Indeed. The attack shuttle is a funny little beast (as fragile as a Z-95, with no generic pilots), but it's surprisingly capable - and the fact that it has both 3 attack dice and a turret slot means it can do anything from baby interceptor to annoyingly elusive turret bunny.
- Ezra with Rage and Inspiring Recruit is a very cheap sort-of-jouster
- Ezra with Lone Wolf, Hera, Twin Laser Turret is a good long-range support ship
- Hera with Veteran Instincts can use her "swap any red move for any other red move" at PS9, making her hell to pin down. Add in an autoblaster turret and she's able to knife fight with soontir and co perfectly well.
- Sabine with Push The Limit gets amazing action economy - essentially doing the same thing as BB-8 for free, but better (because it's a boost or barrel roll, and you do it on any manoeuvre).
The Ghost is very much worth the purchase. The crew cards alone make it worthwhile, but the model itself is very nice. The attack shuttle is a great filler ship and you'll find the Ghost populating a fair few "meta" lists now.
Go and buy it now.
(Can I have my commission now please FFG?)
simple answer yes
What about the negative?
Well, it only has one negative: its size. It does not fit on an 80mm base; hell, it would barely have room to spare on a 120mm base (if such a thing existed!)
It also requires a special peg and isn't very well balanced atop it. While it is as tall as an Epic peg (which reduces the bumping issues it might experience with other ships) it can and WILL bump other Ghosts. Considering how strong the ship is, you are fairly likely to have at least a few matches agin another Rebel player flying one, and sometimes two.
Other than that, it's a great ship, and I've seriously considered getting one as a start on collecting Rebels.
I think we're going to see more YT-1300 pilots (i.e., Chewie) with Rage-Ezra-Inspiring Recruits, so that's a thing.
Edited by StriderZesseiit's one of surprisingly few expansions where both the ship and the upgrades are very very solid
the VCX-100 itself is more fragile than it looks, but it is a goddamn bludgeon of a ship and Hera (crew) makes it sing

Just got mine from Amazon Prime (with free one day delivery) for $28.95. That's 42% off the list. Hadn't intended to buy it, but the Imperial Veterans was 100 % list (rather buy it locally at that price). But yes, what everyone said - seems to be both a viable ship on its own, and some nice cards for Rebels. The main problem is that I've run out of room in my Rebel carrying case - the thing is a space hog.
I keep checking that Imperial Veterans price and it keeps not wavering, but dang, the Imperial Raider is down to $57. I just don't have a use for Epic ships at the moment...

If you want to be one of "those guys" you can buy the Raider and part it out. Leading up to Worlds the Palpatine card was selling for around $35 on eBay, just for the one card. Plus you get four copies of the TIE Advanced Title and Advanced Targeting Computer, and there are people buying the base Raider (no upgrades) for $25-40, depending on whether shipping is included or not. I bought a cheap Raider and sold the parts for enough profit to buy a Bespin play mat. ![]()
I would do it again at $57, but apparently I missed it. The Raider is back up to $64 when I checked just now.
I have a Ghost, and it's fun. Definitely worth getting. I'm considering a second...
I bought two Ghosts. Double Lothals is a ton of fun, and should be even better once I can swap out a Prototype Pilot for Sabine's Masterpiece.
My personal favorite Lothal build pairs Hera and Dash Rendar as crew, with FCS and an Autoblaster Turret. Rey is also a really strong crew choice.
I may or may not have clicked the "Buy" button on an Amazon order for my second Ghost... but only because the Imperial Aces was on a really good sale, and I need two more Interceptors for my Heroes of the Aturi Cluster fleet. Really, that's the only reason.
