How many of each expansion to buy of new Wave

By Ranker, in Star Wars: Armada

How many of each exp should one get to optimally be able to field any type of list and have requisite upgrades?

6 Arquitens, 2 Peltas, 2 CCs, 4 of each squadron. Well not really but 2 of everything is nice. Except for the Pelta and Campaign.

In lieu of all data, I default to 2x each if budget is not an issue.

For my part, I already have two light cruisers and one new Imperial squadron packs on pre-order. (Maybe, I'll have to check.)

I'm thinking about adding a third light cruiser.

EDIT: Obviously, I'm getting the campaign box, and pressuring my FLGS to get the campaign/league kit, but that's not part of Wave V in my book.

1 Campaign

2x each squadron pack

2x Pelta

3x Arquitens

What I'm currently looking at to start. I figure one can always add to that depending upon what ships seem to be competitive in numbers.

Eventually this:

1 campaign

4 Arquietens

1 Pelta

2 of each squadron package

But for now one of each is fine

I don't see the point in buying 2 Peltas, but having 2 arquitens and squadron packs make sense.

Right now I'm in for one of each. But I definitely can see a 2nd of each fighter pack and the ArKittens.

I'm looking at CC, 2x Arquitens, and a Pelta for now. I'm waiting on the Squadron previews to decide if I want to spring on them early or not. I don't play a lot of squadron heavy builds (I don't play a lot of builds with squadrons at all, to be honest), but I'm guessing they'll be full of things the meta will require me to include over time, so it will happen eventually.

For myself I have 1 of each of the 4 expansions on Pre-Order and will also get the Campaign at some point.

Unless the new fights are super good it will be one pack of each, two pelta class ( I can see a double build working) and 3 imp light cruisers.

2x of each release is a pretty good way to go. Extras of the smaller/cheaper ships if you like the cards, the model, or just the style. Although you should try to nab* some A-Wings from some people if possible too.

* - I'm not advocating stealing, of course, but more A-Wings are always good to have.

A more pleasing word for stealing is capturing or defecting ;)

One of each now, but the exception of 2 of each of the flotillas and 3 arquitens.

I personally only play casual games typically at over 1000 points. Given this I plan on getting CCx1, Peltax2, Arquitensx3(Will eventually get a forth), Imp Squadsx2 and Reb Squadsx3. I like having a ton of ships on the table and I want to be able to field both types of the Pelta. Never get a lot of time to play so when I do, it is a day long massive game filling up all the play area, it is epic.

I am leaning towards:

2 Pelta

5 Arquitens

4 Imp Squadrons

4 Reb Squadrons

2 CC

I like having enough to field anything that I get an itch to try, including massive point battles (600-1500) and I also let many of the local players try before they buy on new stuff. Most can't resist the plastic crack after they have had a taste!

Plus I love painting them, so the more I get the more fun I get to have

The Arquitens will be the first Imperial ship I buy more than one of, just because of some of its upgrades. The Pelta I will only buy once unless it's upgrades are worth owning two of also. I'll get one CC, but without the fighter preview I won't know if one or two fighter packs are called for.

The pelta is a superb carrier ( 4 activations with expanded hangers, flight commander and fighter co-ordination team) all for 71 points. The fleet commands are just gravy, I will probably be wanting to see if a paired set work as the core of a reb fighter fleet.

Minimum one each with extras depending on your own strategic needs.

I have one of everything so far but likely I'll get at least 1 more Arquitens and another 1-2 fighter packs of each side.

I don't get why some people are getting more than 1 CC campaign. All of the fighters are unique so what's the point in 2?

Probably 1 campaign, 2 arqs, 1 pelta, 3x imperial squads, 2x rebel squads for starts.

I'm nor sure either. Perhaps they fear the strength of the adhesive on the stickers.

They hear Darth Elmers in their heads: "You underestimate the power of the glue side. I must stick to the map."

I picked up 2 core sets just so I had enough of everything for 2 players, the same holds true for CC. I have 4 sons, ages 20, 15, 13, & 5, so I have an automatic Armada opponent for nearly the next decade and a half. I need two sets of everything. Not to mention the old adage, "Why buy one, when you can have two for twice the price!"

Regarding ships, I purchase one ship for each title card.

So, for this wave I will acquire 1 Pelta class assault/command ship and 2 Arquitens class cruisers, provided that the 2 reversed cards shown in the preview are title cards.

Regarding squadrons, My goal is to have a minimum of one fighter miniature for each point of squadron value calculated by the highest squadron value for each class of ship multiplied by the number of ship titles. For example, for the Nebulon B frigate, the escort variant has the higher squadron value at 2. There are 3 titles, so that equals 6 miniatures. As of Wave 4, that equals 37 miniatures for the Rebels and 33 for the Empire. I currently have 32 squadrons for the Rebels and 36 squadrons for the Empire. This does not include the rogue and Villains expansion, of which I have 2.

So, for Wave 5...I'm really not happy with the choice of packaging along Rebel and Imperial lines. I would have preferred to see the 2 TIE fighter styles in a pack with the E-wing and the Z-95, and the remaining ships in their own pack like Rogues and Villains. The modified Pelta has a squadron value of 3, while the Arquitens Command version fields 2. So, 1 expansion each of the fighter packs should cover the additional squadron values added to the current Rebel and Empire total.

I will start off with one of each. Campaign pack, Imp-CL, Pelta, Imp Squadron-2nd, Reb Squadron-2nd.

I may get a second Imp-CL but unless the ship titles are glowing I don't recon too much of them. Needa + TRC is a favourite but I can only take one of those.
