Make the VSD great again!

Jerjerrod is the answer. VSD's have the hull and engineering points to manage one or two turns of the extra yaw at the sacrifice of hull. Let's be honest: you don't always need both clicks, but now you have the option to make those mini brutes actually work in lists without absolute fear of being outflanked.

I like the VSD, but as is, it's definitely limited. Now you have an option.

Is it damage to hull, or can you lose those damage points on shields?

It is Damage.

It is not Damage Card.

Question: Can you elect to simply take the Jerry damage straight to hull? Say if you had a Gozanti following behind a pair of Jerry-happy VSD's with Repair Crew?

VSD's maneuvering is the issue for me, not their stats/upgrades. Easily the biggest culprit of the "first turn determines the game" mentality.

If an only if you had a hull zone with no shields.

Correct.

You may choose the Hull Zone in which the damage is applied.

If that Hull zone has shields, then it applied to Shields...

If that Hull zone has no shields, then its applied to the Hull as a Damage Card.
