Got bored of painting TIE's

By Dedmanzhand, in Star Wars: Armada Painting and Modification

I know I'm not the only one here, so tried a few different schemes to mix things up a bit. Also, let me know of any other TIE units with funky colours:

Those mining guild TIEs are excellent.

The yellow ties look slick, what did you use to chop em?

A scalpel. Was pretty easy to do with something under the inside of the wing to support.

You got me beat...I've never had the guts to try a mining guild tie.

Bravo!

Mining guild ties look great! I cut myself up a set of them too. Super fun to do and paint, and they look awesome on the table to contrast with normally bland IMP squads.

Yeah, they sure stand out! Might paint a pair of Gozanti's to match and for them to follow around. Any other ideas for funky paint jobs anyone?

What I do is search for custom painted X-wing variations of the ships. There are a slew of super artistic and creative people in X-wing who custom paint their ships, and then I adapt some of those schemes with my own personal touches for the armada scale.

There's a lot in Legends for alternate paint schemes, great resource for coming up with new stuff.

Cheers guys, I will star Google image searching etc. Am tempted to make some TIE Strikers by chopping up Interceptors and inverting half of the wing...
