Kenkirk + Expose

By Teloch, in X-Wing Rules Questions

If I equip Kenkirk with Expose, and use Expose, and in the same round I take my first damage card, is my agility still 0 or is it now 1?

My thoughts were that at 0 agility, expose keeps it at 0, so I then take damage and Kenkirks ability kicks in giving me 1 agility.

Nope. Per FAQ, when you make the calculation for agility, you ignore anything that says 'to a minimum of 0' until you're done.

So You get Base 0-Expose+Kenkirk=0.

Kenkirk specifically says he increases your agility, not that he adds a defense die. He has 0 defense dice after Exposing himself. Unless you're at range 3/obstructed of course.

Phrasing.

But doesn't Expose set your AGI for the remainder of the round instead of calculating AGI every time you're attacked?

No, it applies a persistent debuff to your agility for the duration of the round. You actually recalculate your agility every time you defend (timing chart step 4i).

This made me laugh out loud.

Kenkirk exposing himself, there really is no defence for that.
