[CCL S2] InterceptorMad's Work

Everyone is always saying how the X-Wing, compared to others, is just a little pricey for what it does these days. So like the A-Wing, Advance, Defender and others, I feel it does need to gain something for either 0 points or a reduction.

I think even with titles being 0 points each people still may not play many X-Wings. I wanted to make it an easier choice to field one for once.

I'm liking the unique scimitar pilots. Ayer should be pretty good at setting up allies for an ordnance alpha strike, but since he's only one ship, not too good.

One thing that you should be careful about is the 3-speed scimitar maneuvers. You can currently 3-bank into a 3-sloop. You should try that out on the table a few times and see how good of a maneuver that is.

Yeah it was either going to be sloops at 3 or a K at 4 and 5. Or maybe just leave it at a 5-k and have regular white 3-turns.

It may be the case that this is not really a problem, of course

I like these cards. The T-65 language on the x-wing fix cards probably wants an accompanying FAQ to make it clear which X-wing that is, but we can certainly have that. That particular problem is a little tricky to navigate under current FFG card language precedent. But I think we all know what you mean, so we should be fine for the CCL. I think the x-wing fixes work on biggs, which is one of the main problems facing potential X-wing fixes. I don't think they'll work super well on low-PS generics since they partly rely on repositioning bonuses, which are much better on high-PS ships; you might want to look at the Stunt fighter title and try to replace it with something geared to those type of ships. That said, the two point discount might be enough in general for those ships. I'd also dig around and re-name that title as one of the various X-wing models that exist in legends, but that's personal preference really.

I love that old astromech.

Your T65 pilots are really cool and the unique Y's are cool too.

I'm not sure the generics would see play unfortunately. I like the upgrades too.

I love the idea of having Nora in a Y-Wing, the one craft she is referenced as flying in the new canon.

However, I don't think her ARC-170 ability fits with the Y-Wing very well. It means she gets either a 3 dice primary or can get an extra result on a secondary weapon (providing it doesn't force her to spend the target lock).

I think Nora should be a munitions focused Y-Wing while sticking with the theme of her and target locks:

When a secondary weapon instructs you to discard a target lock, you may immediately acquire a target lock. This is a simple ability that allows her to get maximum output from her attack as she can spend the target lock to reroll her attack dice. Just my two cents.

I really like everything else, but I do think the X-Wing titles are a bit lacking. Giving the X-Wing the ability to boost just makes it too similar to a T-70. I do like the idea of the T-70 having access to the boost, while the T-65 has access to the barrel roll. It allows the ships to have a unique identity from each other.

The Y-Wing is known as a bomber, and I think the bomb loadout card is just...tragic, so I'd propose a buff to this:

'Upgraded Bomb Bay' - 1 point

Your upgrade bar loses [1 Torpedo] slots, and gains [2 bomb slots].

When a bomb dropped by this ship is detonated, count its attack value as +1.

I'd bust R5-G4 down to one point, or make it so you can spend focus tokens on the roll. 2 points for an affect that you may get to work some of the time maybe in the match but only if you take a crit is too much, I think.

For the t-65B, I'd add the word "Immediately" so that the boost can occur after a K-Turn.

I've taken him and her out of the expansion, latest post is what is in my proposed set. So no G4 and Norra.

I'm ok with the Bomb card, and also increasing attack values on bombs makes no different as they don't have values like that. It would have to be something like "when a bomb you drop detonates, it deals 1 additional damage" but that could be waaaay too good for a -1 upgrade when a ship can potentially go over 3 cluster tokens at once.

I went with two titles with a boost on one as I felt people would want the choice. But I defo didn't want to just give the T-65 a boost action like the T-70, so you have to fulfill the requirements. I could change it to this:

More like AA for the Striker, but can be when stressed. But can't benefit from Kanan or being turned green by something. Boost without the boost.

Also if we want a bomb-based ability for a R1 pilot on the Y, maybe have Evaan be this:

I like the idea of having a Blue Squadron Veteran and a Red Squadron Ace. I see a lot of Rebel Veterans packs with only a Blue Squadron pilot, but I like this more because I feel we still need to continue to pay our respects to the Red Squadron X-wing and not forget them. I hope FFG uses your idea of unique ships in the Rebel Veterans.

I would switch Pops' Pilot Skill with Telsij. Otherwise, I like these.
