I'm still in the school of "it's a light repeating blaster, it's not going to do anything to another ship".
U-Wing should have additional arc.

Indeed! Why should ship-to-ship weapons work any differently than anti-personnel weapons in the hands of troopers? :0
My guess? FFG does not get a sneak peak at the new Star Wars movies.
So they don't necessarily know if the U-Wing has a turret, or if Poe should be PS 9.
Kind of. Alex or Frank said during the development process that LFL/Disney was super secret about Force Awakens and knew next to nothing about how it was going to be (which is why Poe ended up as only PS8 originally), but were very helpful with Rogue One. There was an article a few days ago that said while only the top people at FFG knew the specifics of the characters and were able to incorporate the movie better into the game, the actual names were kept secret. So instead of Jyn and the U-Wing, they were coded name "Huntress" and "Scissors" to the testing team.
The U-Wing doesnt' have a turret. In the SW Battlefront game, it has an atmospheric side-mount gun to strafe infantry with, and that's what it looked like from the trailer too. Hopefully, that crew card looks like it may be that gunner, and maybe they'll add the side-mount weapon of some kind.
Edited by SlugrageWell, let's hypothesize what such a crew could look like.
Door Gunner
Crew.
No need for limited, you'll not put up more than one.
Large Ship only? Yes, it would make no sense on a small ship such as a B-Wing or a TIE Fighter.
Faction specific? If you make it Rebel only, and you keep it Large only, it'll be useful on two ships: the VCX and the U-Wing.
If you make it available to all, you will have to consider a lot more interactions.
Then, the actual effect.
"You may attack targets even outside of your arc" That's too powerful. Even limiting it to primary weapon attacks (where the door gunner is shooting with the full blast of the Ghost somehow) is too powerful.
Attack: x dice outside of your arc. This could be possible.
But you'd have to take into account future designs and other ships. What if you have a ship with only a mobile arc? If that points backwards, would the Door Gunner suddenly shoot ahead?
I will give another argument which is not fluff based: It would not be balanced.
You could field a blue squadron pathfinder with hera/FCS/title, and just sit in one spot, covering all of the map with 180 degrees arc, then U turn when the enemy goes around the arc.
+ for the ship to have such wide arc, it would have to have a worse dial, which goes against fluff of the ship.
Cheers
Not balanced? Right "Palp Ace" is not broken then.
Okay if U-Wing can't have additional firing arc then JAM action. Just think U-Wing has a JAM action on its actionbar. I would balanced the game a lot. Palpace has 2 stress and will have problem. Poe will have problem with focus. Decimator won't be able to use Expose and more.

They didn't know a lot about The Force Awakens. They said months ago that they already knew a lot about Rogue One.

Yeah, Decimator with Expose is a massive problem. Can't believe they haven't nerfed that yet.
You hardly need it with the ability to pivot on the spot.
Yeah, vacuum is such a draaaag .You tend not to have the doors open when flying through space. Probably because of the drag or something.

Vacuum really sucks.
Don't be so negative
Uhm...we are talking about a "space" where you can hear the explosions.
Han and Leia doesn't wear any suit just beacuse is an ignorant 80's movie. Sorry mates :-/ just love StarWars for what it is, without looking for any explanation about any realism.
