Has anyone noticed on the newer large based ships that the pegs and bases arent compatible with "older" large based ships? I first noticed it with my Shadow Caster. The older pegs didnt fit up into the Caster, and the peg that came with the Caster didn't fit down into the "older" base. Then I confirmed this when I received the HOTR expansion, and the new Falcon was the same way. The Shadow Caster and new Falcon pegs/bases are interchangeable though. I usually just keep the same 10 bases and pegs in my duffle bag when I play, since this has never been an issue. But now I'm having to mark the newer pegs and bases with a sharpie to help identify them. Has anyone else noticed this?

So are Large ship newer and older bases/pegs. They will but may be tighter or much looser depending on which ones you use.

No this isnt on Huge ships, it's all on Large based ships. My original Falcon doesnt work on the new Falcon's peg and base and vice versa.

So what are the colored bases and pegs? The new style? Am I being forced to buy the colored bases for the new ships?

My coloured bases have worked with all my ships, wave 1 to 9.

I would say it's a defect but I own wave1 to 9 and seen any difference other than loose fitting t70 and tie fo

I'd agree I think the material may have changed...sawing through a new large peg the other day took me maybe twice as long as in the past (and, no, it wasn't that the blade was blunt )

Manufacturing changed at Wave 5 (Decimator and Outrider). From that point on, new means of producing pegs was different from the old way. Older pegs in newer ships tend to be really loose and silip, whereas newer pegs in older ships tend to be exceptionally tight.

At this point it's best to keep the pegs with each ship they came with to ensure you can quickly find the best fits.

I noticed a slight difference in snug/loose fitting too. But I also noticed that they have a lower failure rate (cracking) and seem to be made better- this goes for any thing from wave 8 on, and the new base/peg packs are better to me too. I think FFG 'improved' the plastic peg hole attached to ships as well and this change was slightly off from the older waves of base/pegs. Scotch tape, Elmer's glue works in a pinch.

New ships on the new pegs are dog-gone dang perfect for me. No issues. (I'm still gonna magnetize these too)

there's been a clear difference since wave 6, these are two pegs from an agressor and the other two are from a Shuttle and a Firespray, they're clearly different

And that's why i use magnets for all of my ships

I've done it for all of the collection
but use a 'core' set of 10 small 6 B-Wing and 10 Large base

just make sure you keep the same polarisation for all of the ships is use

Yup, big difference I was dissapointed when I could not get the Lancer on an Epic stand. Another ship, of the peg half the game.

The colored bases and pegs seem to be about in the middle. They fit in most old ships if a lightly more snugly than I would like and newer ships fit well enough that they seldom slip off the peg.

That is why I painted by K-Wing's peg as well as the K-Wing itself.

OK, good to see I'm not the only one having this issue. I may pick up a pack of colored bases just to see how they work, though it kills me to spend money on bases and pegs when I have a box FULL of them in a closet. I just dont want to only have one designated peg and base per ship.

They do sell colourless bases as well.
