Obligation, duty, and morality.

Another question, when starting with all 3 core books. Did you even out everything for everyone? So if you had 6 pcs 2 with obligation, 2 duty, 2 morality. Would you set the duty and obligation at 5 for a party of 6 or 20 for a pair using that mechanic?

Duty I think is sorta redundant or unnecessary, and I don't like morality, so it's easy.

I don't use any of them. They are useful at chargen, but otherwise pointless.

You can certainly use all three mechanics, though Morality is probably even less useful for non-Force users. Also, the PC should only benefit from one of them at chargen. As for the team effects...I wouldn't stack them.

In my experience it is better to handle Obligation etc narratively. Rather than imposing arbitrary Setback die on rolls due to an Obligation roll allow Obligation to shape the characters personal story arc/motivations. Reward the player with bonus Xp for playing up to their Obligations.

I've never used Duty or Morality in game before but I can imagine you could hand rule it the same way I have stated above. Only hazard would be how Morality and Force Powers interact but I know very little on that part of the rules so I won't speculate any further :P

Morality really seems only useful at a personal level for each character, and *only* within the context of a certain type of game. If your players (and, by extension, your campaign) have a cavalier attitude toward use of the Force, and aren't interested in exploring each character's personal connection to the Force through use of the Light & Dark sides thereof, then don't bother. It's not really that much bookkeeping, but it's certainly not something you should try to force on a player.

I think that Duty works better as a group mechanic while Obligation works well as both an individual and a group mechanic, but I wouldn't try to mix them unless you have compelling story-driven reason to. KISS principle, and all that.

I don't use any of them. They are useful at chargen, but otherwise pointless.

They're pointless at CharGen too if you use the rules from FaD.

I'm running an EotE/F&D combo campaign. I specifically told the players that we weren't using anything from AoR as I didn't want to introduce heavy Rebel v. Empire elements into the game.

Since they're living and working on the fringe, all of the players have an Obligation and a Motivation. The F&D career characters also have Morality to answer to as that's a key component of the Force. It prevents the F&D players from jumping on the easy solution (murder! murder! murder!) and discourages Sith-like behaviors. Darksiders aren't known as team players and I need the PCs to get along.
