Honestly, I'm not mad about them. The relative scale/skew seems off on the Starkiller one, but the Hoth one just looks outright awful. I'd have been much happier with it if they'd just had the white of the planet with some terrain detail. It it no way gels with the horizon line, or even the perspective. Shame, too. They did a decent job on the previous offerings.

I use a 3rd party mat for X-wing. It's heavy vinyl, but the print quality is excellent, and it has a non-slip base. I'm very happy with it. That said, I wouldn't say no to one with that neoprene build. A few of the guys use them in the store, and they're great to play on. I'm just not mad about the price of the FFG ones, vs what I can get 3rd party.

Meh, 3x3s are pretty useless for Armada, and third parties do plenty of 6x4 or 6x3 mats for a reasonable price and a huge range of options.

I have of the Deepcut Studio 6x3 mouse pad mats and I am really happy with it.

The cost is less than 2 FFG mats and you get an overall theme. Quality is just as good, same thickness, printing detail etc.

If I was going for an FFG set I would take Bespin and a plane star field.

Although I can appreciate the cloud city on the bespin one. I can't say the same for Hoth. IMHO It should have been closer to Yavin or Endor where we see the planet but nothing on the surface. With Cloud city you can argue it was in the Atmosphere.

As for Star Killer Base they should have had it in the process of eating star/destroying solar systems beam from the superweapon.
