Paul Heaver's new card.

By Rogue3, in X-Wing

Oicunn for the Empire, obviously. But maybe a Scimitar squadron TIE Shuttle. I think having one of these behind a Palpshuttle for infinite 0 maneuvers would be hilariously obnoxious. Talk about fortressing.

Ha, have you not realised what Heaver has done here? He is trying to get more people to use Stay on target (another one of his cards)

Well played Sir, well played.

No, no. You do not realize what Heaver has done. He wants people to use Boba Fett to assassinate Bo-Shek!

So no more complain about fluff, he has woven a story of betrayal and murder into his 3 cards.

It makes Ryad just all that much more powerful. Bump into a Defender who has a 4K dialed in, and you change it to a 4 straight or 5 straight. Obviously that's a concern for any K turn, but the Defenders do it the most. It'll also make clearing stress interesting. Do you do a 2 straight with a T-70 out of your K turn now, or do you play it safe and go 1 straight so you can ensure you can rotate to a green?

Counterpoint: Ryad usually wants to have a straight maneuver dialed in. PTL Ryad will either have to settle for a white K-turn instead of a green, and can only do a bank if she had tried to do a 2- or 3-straight.

I almost thought this was an interview with Dave Grohl when I first saw the thumbnail of the YouTube link.

Foo Fighter (aka TIE Punisher)

This could totally screw k-turning defenders, and will really shake up action dependent builds like PtL ships, because depending on the green you choose, you may get bumped into a white and not lose your stress leaving you very, very vulnerable. This could really murder arc-dodgers who suddenly can't adjust.

Man, this card has a ton of potential.

Well played Sir, well played.

It doesn't combo with SoT does it? If you are going to be having it trigger, you will want to run in to something that hasn't moved yet. In this case SoT isn't doing anything for you since you will just slot in the maneuver to bump the ship from the get go.

If you use it to hit a ship that has already moved, your opponent will simply just slot in a maneuver 1 to the left or right of the maneuver they really want to d....

OOOOOOOH now I see it. Because it is a MAY to look at the maneuver, you can choose NOT to look at it, making them perform the maneuver they laid down...

Mind games. Mind games everyone...

So where does Bo Shek fit? Any serious contenders who are running around with an empty seat and 2 points to spare?

  1. Bumpmaster could be an interesting application.
  2. Quadjumper is an obvious choice but scum has so many great cheap crew options.
  3. Maybe one of the seats on a K-wing in Sable's Galaxy Note list.
  4. Rebel Tie Fighter?
  5. U-wing is definitely an option...
  6. Oicunn looks like the only viable imperial choice.
  7. Quadjumper is an obvious choice

I hope you all like my contribution to the bluffing portion of X-Wing!

If you don't quote Princess Bride at least once while playing against this, you're doing something wrong. :)

Scimitar with Bo Shek and Intel Agent.

I'll stick him in the bumpy U-Wing with APL, Cassian and FCS - all the pre-move shenanigans.

Friggin genius, man.

So I'm not a tournament player but could this bring tie swarms back? low PS ships that can work around most ships with crew?

Perfect

Clearly you like to live dangerously, as you have flown so close to the edge, so I can clearly not choose to pickup the dial.

So you have made your decision then?

NOT REMOTELY

This is an hilariously wonderful card, sir.

Yeah, in line with the Princess Bride comment, one of the drawbacks I can see with this card is the 10 minute Planning Stages that will be occurring...

This will be at least as big a headache for swarms. If the ship with the crew bumps into a ship in the swarm then the following round may get interesting for the swarm.

Have you tried playing a Lancer with gyroscoping Targeting? Basically forces you to work out the whole next movement phase of both players, before setting a single dial. I like the idea of it, but the timing trigger is awfull.

You'be beaten my Jouster which means your exceptionally strong. So you could've selected your first choice maneuver, relying on your strength to save you. But you've also bested my arc dodger which mean you must have studied, and in studying, you must have learned green dice are fickle.

So is BoShek a real character or is this a reference to calling "bullsh*t " on someone's bluff? They sound awfully similar

BoShek introduced Kenobi to Chewbacca in A New Hope, and there seems to be quite a bit about him from Star Wars Legends. I'm only aware of the character because he was one of my preferred cards in the classic Star Wars CCG.

YV is a decent fit. Still get your offensive action with dengar crew, so you can slam into someone at will, low enough ps that you can likely trigger boshek on anyone who matters (or your own ship).

Gotta figure out the squad but i already got the name, BoShek horseman of the apocolypse.

He's a force sensitive Correlian that broke Solo's record for the Kessel Run. He should probably be a PS9 if he ever shows up as a pilot in X-Wing. I had him pegged as the Scum PS9 pilot.
