Ghost spotted in Rogue One

We clearly know who wins the nickname contest, though.

Wow! I remember these! I had a friend who used to have one! (...boy do I feel old all of a sudden... ...)

Ghost making a cameo - pretty cool, the USS Enterprise making a cameo in a SW movie - seriously JJ, wtf you thinking.

With all due respect, I didn't see it in the Force Awakens. Present to me your evidence and I will judge accordingly. That being said, supposedly the USS Enterprise D has a background appearance in The Phantom Menace, and you can't blame that one on JJ.

However, this is not that unusual for films and TV to do...

In Firefly, an Imperial Shuttle, and a Corellian Cargo ship from the EU can be seen in two episodes, the latter is pretty overt too.

Star Trek First Contact has the Millennium Falcon appear for a split second during the battle with the borg cube at the start.

Films throw in these little easter eggs and they are usually so tiny or there for a split second that you never even recognise it unless you were to watch the film back frame by frame.

And R2D2 was in the latest Khan Star Trek movie. Yes they do this, and yes, ETs in SW is stupid. I just breaks the four wall and pulls people out of the movie and adds nothing to it.

It's after Rey eats and is sitting outside her ATAT with the rebel pilot helmet on.

Looks like a Gozanti to me.

Yup. Gozanti. But if you use your imagination, like looking at clouds, you can see the Enterprise. Couple of those rocks look like Klingons too.

No, sorry. If that was your Easter egg enterprise you lost all credibility. I can see, like directly away constellation class, but it's lopsided... Because it's not.

Funny, when I first saw it, I thought it looked like Serenity...

You don't... really think that's the Enterprise, do you..?

If you turn your head and squint, you can see the Enterprise banking in that shape. But that's only after looking for it.

And the primary problem is, it doesn't fly in the direction The Enterprise's shape would suggest.

Let's just kill this totally stupid topic right here.

Look at this net that I just found!

Pf0wZMe.png

That's just a Rebel dropship . That's it. That's all it is. That's all it is. It's just a model of dropship occasionally used by The Rebellion. That's it! That's not the Enterprise! It's JUST a dropship..!

...Come to think of it that might'a been how Poe Dameron got out of there.

Huh.

EDIT: OHPFFT NEVERMIND AFTER CROSS REFERENCING THINGS THE POE DAMERON PLOTHOLE GOT EVEN WORSE .

You must be one of those that find penises on The Little Mermaid's cover, and SEX on the sky in the Lion King.

In order to make that silhouette look like the Enterprise, it would be flying at almost 0 degrees away from the direction the camera is looking at, and banked to the left.

However the smoke trails clearly show the ship flying at about 45 degrees towards the right. One of the trails even comes from the lower bump. A Gozanti or the dropship shown above fits better that silhouette and trajectory than the Enterprise.

Funny, when I first saw it, I thought it looked like Serenity...

Same association here, when I saw TFA the first time on a big screen.

But probably it's a Gozanti, with the 2 jetstreams.

Thank you for adding more reasons why I won't see it.

You're welcome to **** off at any time.

Seconded.

Dangerous thirding, since it's getting damned annoying at this rate.

You know, I've never understood the hatred people have for Rebels or wanting to kill off any/all of the characters in the show. You know what I'd like to see? Rogue One is calling for evac but the U-Wing that's coming to rescue them is shot down on approach. All seems lost when, out of the sun, the Ghost comes in low and makes a landing in a hot LZ. Kanan and Ezra, manning the turret and nose guns, clear the area of vehicles while Zeb, Sabine and Rex disembark from the nose ramp and provide covering fire for the surviving members of Rogue One to break cover and board the Ghost. Once on board, The Ghost lifts off and heads back into space with TIE Fighters in hot pursuit. After a chase, the Ghost jumps into hyperspace to deliver the plans to Princess Leia aboard the Tantive IV.

Roll credits.

Ahaaaaaaaaaaaah... That'd be awesome.

That would be awesome except..

Your still left answering the question of how Luke is the last Jedi and where the Rebels cast are for A New Hope..

I love Rebels but I think by A New Hope the two force users (three if you count Ahsoka) need to be out of the picture in some way.

Also if Rogue Ones crew get a last ditch rescue, I really want it to be a really small number of them.

Winning their first major victory and getting the plans beamed to Leia simply HAS to have a high cost. I want to see a competent Empire and a badass Vader. Give the OT characters successes real meaning.. they beat the Oppressively Powerful Galactic Empire, not just some "joke of a shot" mooks.

I agree, the struggle against the Empire is meant to be against overwhelming odds. The Rebel pilots at the battle of Yavin had a 10% survival rate. At the Battle of Hoth, they knew they had no chance of defending Echo base, they lost half of Rogue Squadron simply to give the rest of the base personnel time to escape.

Let's see more of that Empire and not the one below. :D

If this is the Ghost, I think it's really cool that we know we'll be revisiting this very battle near the climax of the TV show. Never before in a visual medium have we seen a single battle covered from two different perspectives, have we? This could be the first time.

All that needs to happen is the VCX shown for brief moments and doesn't get a focus on it. We'll find out what it and her crew are doing much, much later... when we find out they are doing something much more important to them at the time. We don't know what it is, and the tension of whether the Ghost will ever get shot down would be gone, but I think it would be really cool.

Oh its been done plenty of times before, just not in Star Wars. Batman vs Superman shows Supes' fight against Zod from Bruce Wayne's perspective. In fact it is so well done that some people have even done side-by-side comparisons to show just how tightly the 2 tie together.

I would be a bit disappointed if the show did end at that point. Yes, it would make some thematic sense, but the Rebellion continues for several more years. It could also be brilliant to see the Imperial crackdown all across the galaxy after the destruction of the Death Star - "striking back" as it were. A rebel fleet on the run, with divisions between Sato (assuming he is alive at that point), Mon Mothma and others over the best way to carry on; little nods to the events of the current Marvel comics, as well as including characters such as Dr. Aphra, 000 and BT-1. Would love to see all of that unfolding.

Hmmm... I dunno. Ahsoka doesn't even consider herself a Jedi so I don't think that matters. As for Kanan and Ezra - I'm pretty sure Kanan won't survive the series and Ezra - whatever happens to him, I don't think he'll continue on the path of the Jedi.

Or Yoda and Obi-Wan simply didn't know about Kanan and Ezra.

Well I personally think that Yoda and Obi-wan might just be lying to Luke, telling him what they think he needs to hear. And to be fair Luke was the only person, well aside from Leia, that had a chance of taking down Vader not because of skill but due to familial connection that might make him hesitate or side with his child which we ultimately see in Return of the Jedi. The two probably felt telling Luke that there was no one else to do the job would just help motivate him.

Or Yoda and Obi-Wan simply didn't know about Kanan and Ezra.

Yoda has talked with Ezra and Kanan in Rebels seasons 1 and 2 so far.

Was that real Yoda or Holocron Yoda? I got the impression it was a Holocron imprint of Yoda, or something similar.

I think it supposed to be Yoda using the force to connect with them while they are meditating, doing Jedi stuff in the Jedi temple. Ever since the Clone Wars they have been trying to push more and more that the force is more magic than science. And supposedly the reason Ezra was actually able to 'see' Yoda in season 2 was because he heard what he looked like from Ahsoka and his connection to the force being stronger.
