Why do they even need to?
The Ghost was also on the ground on Yavin IV
I seen it on the ground also. Didn't catch the General Sundulla part. Probably because my mouth was open and I was having a spacegasm

It's on Yavin 4. After Jyn leaves the war room after her speech, if you listen to the PA it's something like "General Syndulla to the briefing room!" Etc.
After that I was looking around the whone scene to see if there was a Twilek in flying goggles lol.
I saw the Ghost several times during the battle, and heard "General Syndulla to the briefing room", but did NOT see Chopper anywhere. Any eagle-eyes out there spot him? Seeing it again today and will keep a eye/ear open for any more.
Also? Holy crap, that was a good movie.

"Paging General Sindulla"
after they land on scarif, the rebel tech officer is running to tell mon mothma about it, he can be seen rolling by on the left side. Look for the lights on his dome. Was that it? I want to say I say it one during one of the shots moving across/through the hangar.
I did see Chop moving across the screen when the comm tech was shouting "MUM! MUM!" the second time. Literally a "blink-and-you'll-miss-it" shot, but still fun. There is also a an x-wing pilot donning a helmet with Sabine-style phoenix art on a field of scarlet. We don't see that pilot's face at all but we might assume at the very least Sabine decorated that helmet.

Well Given by ROTJ we have Admiral Ackbar and not Admiral Sato, I'm pretty sure he is going to end up of the wrong side of the Chimera's cannons at some point...

"Ma'am" is what he's yelling, but it does sometimes sound like 'mom' or 'mum'.

Yes, 'Mum' in the sense of 'ma'am' rather than Mom -he's a Brit, so I typed it phonetically - hope I didn't confuse anyone
It's left very open, just nods to Rebels but I'm in the camp that would love to see the battle from the crews perspective.
It would be so great to see the series go through the event of Rogue One from their point of view and then have the series end on a 'hope' like ending to tie in with the beginning of the A New Hope as they jump to lightspeed away from Scarif. Of course I wouldn't mind if they wanted to run the series through the Galactic Civil War, nor would I mind if they created a series set between the original and sequel trilogy. If they did do that series I would wonder if they would do it like Clone Wars where the episode's protagonist changes with each arc or if they will do another series where it follows a core group.
Last episode of Rebels should be this battle from their perspective, then they all die.

Supposedly, the series 'Rebels' wraps up with the events of 'Rogue One'. It's been mentioned in interviews that it will be getting progressively 'darker' to tie into the 'tone of Rogue One' as it goes.
What that means for the series finale...who knows. But 'Rebels' is a 5-year story that we're halfway through, and it ends on/around the events of Rogue One/Battle of Yavin 4.
There is already another series apparently in pre-production work. Absolutely no details on that - indeed, it's only indirectly implied that work has started on it...while it has been indicated another series is coming at some point*, Filoni, who was previous lead on Clone Wars and then Rebels, was recently promoted to the 'head of all Lucasfilm Animation projects'. Which is, at the moment, only Rebels. So either he's doing the same work he's always been doing before the promotion (unlikely, since his time on Rebels has dropped off quite a bit), or he's already start pre-production work on the series to launch after 'Rebels' wraps. Which makes sense, as that's usually a 1-to-2-year process, and 'Rebels' only has 2 years to go.
FWIW, hope of a strong tie-in between the series seems somewhat thin. Only rumors I've heard of the 'Rebels' follow-up series is that Disney wants to do more of what they are doing with the Marvel movie and TV properties, and tie them together closer, so the post-'Rebels' series is expected to be set in the 'Force Awakens' period and thus run alongside Episodes VIII and IX.
Yeah I'd absolutely expect the next show to be concurrent to the sequel trilogy or whatever we are referring to TFA onwards as.
I'm not sure just how dark they will go to end things. Rebels has had some great dark moments but will they kill them all? If it wraps up with Scariff how else can it be 'ended'? If they are still kicking, their story should continue and won't feel like an end.
Maybe Ezra goes dark side or at least decidedly grey... Maybe he and Maul could balance each other in some way. This would push Kanan into a downward spiral and he goes full-length on hermit. Meanwhile Sabine is off doing Mandalorian things to be hinted at in her upcoming stories after the mid season break and has left o is on sabbatical from the crew.
Leaves Hera, Zeb and Chopper to carry the Rebels flag into the Battle of Scarrif but I'm unsure what their heroic contribution could be there to go out on a high and whether they need to make the ultimate sacrifice.
Ezra and Kanan make it a tough show to conclude without muddying the OT waters. How they do it will be very interesting to discover.
The series doesn't have to conclude with all the characters dead...
Kanan and Ezra are problematic, but leaving Hera, Sabine, Zeb and Chopper alive doesn't hurt OT in any way.
I imagine the crew looking at the exploding Death Star from the surface of Yavin or even watching the medal ceromony would make for a fine ending.
As long as Maul and Ahsoka are alive I have little expectations they'll kill of any of the crew; at most Kannan.
I think its important to note that Luke's unique Jedi status has always been a misdirection and never what makes him uniquely capable of defeating the Empire. If all it would have taken was a Jedi, Yoda wouldn't have failed at the end of Episode III.

And here is the proof:
We see the Ghost at Skariff but we don't see it destroyed on-screen and I don't think it was one of the ships that ended up as a bug-splat on the Devastator's windscreen.
We also see a few of the Phoenix cell's CR-90s and the Hammerheads (albeit, slightly modified).
I was so happy to see the Ghost just whizzing around, I wonder if you look a bit closer you can see the Phantom II. I'm really looking forward to watching this space battle frame by frame to catch all of the easter egg goodies.
Apparently from Vanessa Marshall's Twitter, we get confirmation that she did voice Hera for one line:
Gold Leader: "Hit that opening!"
Hera Syndulla: "We see it Gold Leader."
