Tie/Fo List

By Necronsis, in X-Wing Squad Lists

(26) Omega Leader (21) + Juke (2) + Comm Relay (3)

(26) Omega Ace (20) + Swarm Leader (3) + Comm Relay (3)

(26) Zeta Leader (20) + Predator (3) + Comm Relay (3)

(20) Eplison Ace (17) + Targetting Synchronizer (3)

(98) Points Total

The Plan: Omega Leader will basically work on his own, using the good old Juke and Comm Relay combo with his target lock ability. Epilson Ace ability will allow him to move last and get the target lock. Omega Ace will focus before using Eplison Ace Targeting Synchronizer and Swarm Leader to trigger his ability and get 4 crits. Zeta Leader will provide additional fire support.

I am still new to X-wing and would like feedback and suggestions.

I really like that list. I do believe that Comm Relay can greatly increase the efficiency of Swarm Leader. And i also do approve that Omega Ace is perfect for Swarm Leader.

Great list sir !

I don't think Targeting synchronizer works the way you think it does. It's just lets your friends fire ordnance with your target lock, right? So if you wanna try it, maybe sub in a tie shuttle with fleet officer instead of Epsilon Ace (to pass a focus to Omega, and for Omega can get the TL on her own). You could just run 2 accademies instead of Zeta leader to get two evades (and some blocking).

(30) Omega Leader (21) + Juke (2) + Comm Relay (3) + Shield (4)

(26) Omega Ace (20) + Swarm Leader (3) + Comm Relay (3)

I think that Necronsis is right. Targetting Synchronizer says:

If a game effect instructs that ship to spend a target lock, it may spend your target lock instead.

Omega Ace says:

When attacking, you may spend a focus token and a target lock you have on the defender to change all of your results to Critical Hit results.

This is separate to ATTACK [TARGET LOCK]: section. I could be wrong but Necrosis' combo looks legit (and nasty). 5 guaranteed crits at Range 1? Ouchy!

Dang son... I know it'd make Omega Ace an immediate target priority but that could be really fun.

I like it but not sure you have enough guns, even with OA going heavy. Fly it and let us know.

This is exactly what I was looking to shift the TIE/fo All-stars to.

Whilst Zeta Leader is pretty cost-efficient with Wired and Weapons Guidance, Predator/Comms Relay is better support for a Swarm Leader, and still pretty nasty.

I would consider using your two remaining points to give Zeta Leader and Omega Ace Twin Ion Engines MkII. With Green hard turns, he doesn't have too much trouble shedding stress, but he is going to be stressing himself every time he shoots, given half a chance.

Omega Ace, on the other hand, wants to have the long speed 3 bank to get into range 1, because the extra dice for range 1 means so much more when triggering his ability.

The other option is to drop Predator down to Wired on Zeta Leader (but stick with a Comms Relay anyway) - it makes his attack slightly less effective, but it means he can maintain a fairly reliable 3-dice attack each turn whilst still being an evade battery for Omega Ace - and the extra points saved means you can Twin Ion Engine Mk.II one of the two PS7 fighters, and then shell out for a Stealth Device for Omega Leader, which makes him even scarier in a one-on-one fight.

While definitely a much different list, I was playing around with the concept of a f/o swarm list as well. I used Kylo as the swarm leader heavy hitter, Omega Leader as the solid support, and a pair of Epsilons to round it out. I definitely think there's some powerful concepts in this territory. Going to try out your list as well to see how they both play.

Kylo Ren (41)

Upsilon-class Shuttle (34), Swarm Leader (3), Fire-Control System (2), Systems Officer (2)

“Omega Leader” (29)

TIE/fo Fighter (21), Comm Relay (3), Swarm Tactics (2), Stealth Device (3)

Epsilon Squadron Pilot (15) x 2

Looks good.

The big decider on the Swarm Leader Kylo Ren will be the Upsilon's dial. Whilst it can definitely deliver a 6-dice railgun-shot-o-doom, the question will be whether it can turn around quick enough to keep targets in arc effectively.

Fire Control should - hopefully - not be a great use of points - because it shouldn't be needing to fire at the same target much more than once!

Very true about the Fire Control System. If that range 1, 7 dice shot lands well, it's time for a new victim.

I will test this list out and tell you guys how it goes but its going to be a while before I can do so.

My god a combo that can make omega leader playable? I dont believe it.... :D
